Little Skool House

Fion Loh:
Seems like LV@NUS programme , teacher n the environment is good.
In fact, most, if not all, of the teachers prefer to move with Learning Vision. They seemed happy with Learning Vision, and have no wish to change employer. -
Hi qms!
My kid is in the Nursery 1 kind right now, have been send him to the toddler class when he was 18 months.
I like the school environment, the cc principle and the teachers there. They are really friendly!
It is true like what you said - sometimes, parent must take the initiate to communicate with kid’s class teacher, else, it is a bit hard to know what was happened in the cc.
My kid was bit unlucky this year coz his class teacher was been changed twice this year, that has caused some inconvinience for us - me & my kid need to rebuilt the relationship with the new teacher, this is what worry me if the new cc got the same turnover prob as well.
My husband and I are the NUS staff here, has received the email from the NUS management, will wait till…more details out next week -
hi qms & tbsp
in this case why not stick with learning vision which will relocated within 1km. I think is better for parents n children as well

Hi Fion!
A lot of factors to take into consideration.
1. Staff of NUS get staff rate in LV@NUS. If we move with Learning Vision, we will not get staff rate. Cost is a very important criteria because Learning Vision is not cheap.
2. We put our children in LV@NUS because of convenience. If we follow Learning Vision out of NUS, I, personally, would rather put my daughter in a childcare centre that is near our house.
The list goes on....
-
Sorry i didnt know that working in parents in NUS will have % rate.
I haven view the school but would like to if there’s a chance.
In this case maybe u can consider Little skool house.
I’ve visit little skool house at Ghim Moh - By the vista.
The teachers there are friendly n the place r tidy. But don know how is the programme. -
Hi Fion!
No idea about the program, either. It would be good if parents whose children are in Little Skool House shed some light on the program offered by this childcare group.
In addition to the program, at the end of the day, whether the childcare centre is good or not also depends on the staff. When my children just joined LV@NUS, there were some miscommunications between the teachers and us, causing misunderstanding. Things improved after we sorted out our differences.
In fact, compared to tbsp, my kids are considered lucky that they have not had any change in the class teacher. In fact, the teachers taking them are long-timers in LV@NUS and we have known them since Dec 2006. One of the parents from another class of another level ever mentioned to me how \"aloof\" her son's teacher was, etc. She was quietly pleased ( ) when she heard that the teacher had left the centre.
If you are interested in sending your child to Learning Vision, I will be more than pleased to share with you more information on the staff, etc. -

I am sure Little Skool House will organise some sort of an open house. Will let you know if I hear anything. You can then visit the centre and find out more about the place. -
Fion Loh:
In fact i've contact little skool house and they have email me the enrolment form for 2010 programme.
Hi Fion!
Did the person from Little Skool House ask whether you were a staff of NUS before sending you the enrolment form?
I heard from someone that the branch will only be open to children of NUS staff. What I heard might be just rumours as I have not obtained confirmation on this yet. -
hi qms,
i enrol as non NUS staffs for Little Skool House. Means i’m on waiting list. I did called up learning vision they said they’ll find another location which is within 5 min drive from NUS. My husband’s sis is working is NUS i don think this can be priority right? Actually i only wanna have a space for my son in either one of the school . Because i went to a few and is all full for next year programe. Have u talk to other parents… wat r their plans? -

Hi Fion!
So far, I have only spoken to one parent. She will follow Learning Vision because her son, in the Toddler class, is used to the teachers there already. It took her son quite some time to get used to the staff in Learning Vision, and hence, she is not willing to change to Little Skool House.Fion Loh:
Don't think so....My husband's sis is working is NUS i don think this can be priority right?
Fion Loh:
Come Wednesday, we will know more about Learning Vision's plans. Will update you accordingly then.I did called up learning vision they said they'll find another location which is within 5 min drive from NUS.
