Dear mommies,

Wanna know what is the activity that you are normally do with your 2009 kids? I always think that he's too small so I let him play all day. Play his toys & iPad. I'll only bring him to playgroup class (2hrs) next year.

Thanks,

Even playing is learning, so it's fine I guess. My DD is very hungry for books, so I read a lot to her. She also enjoys going to the playground, fixing jigsaw puzzles, chit-chatting, playing cpu games, etc. MUST play NOW! You might consider controlling his playing once go into K1 to instill good study habits.

My DD now is into watching TV ( learn from his brother lor ).. She knows i forbid them to watch TV in the morning ( DS1 used to switch on TV when he woke up at ard 6a.m ) so she will wait for her kor kor to go off to school then switch on the TV :slapshead:
My DD is not a TV person. She can't sit through the entire cartoon or show. Unlike her elder siblings, she skipped the entire 'Barney stage' as her elder siblings do not enjoy watching it anymore.

Until today, my DD1 who is going into K2 is a TV addict. She was a TV baby who watches Baby Einstein, Barney and many educational baby DVDs. She was thus hooked on TV. I'm glad the rest of my chn are not. I'm more careful now.

Baking Mum:
botakgundul:

Hi baking mum,

Thanks for your advice. I'll do that & delegate certain tasks to the eldest son for bonding purpose. E.g. Ask him to read story book to the youngest one while I do other things.

How do you manage to discipline your eldest daughter to do work for 2.5 hours every night? My eldest son requires my full attention. I need to sit beside him then He'll do the work. If not, He tends to daydreaming.

Hi botakgundul,
Cane loh :rotflmao:
No lah, we sat with her whn she was younger n DD2 not arrived yet. We started with 30mins flashcards everyday, then increase to 40mins w coloring. Whn she was 2, we found out her great interest in drawing n coloring. So let her draw as long as she can, with that also help in her focussing n hand strength for writing. Sometimes she can draws for hours till we run out of drawing papers. That's why now she can do her work by herself even if both of us are out for work, leaving behind DD2 n grandma w her. Of course DD2 will disturb her, but generally DD1 can still manage to complete her assignments w/o our physical presence.
I think I am blessed in a way for having DD1, strong desire to learn character in her helps. But sometimes still must cane lah, kid is still kid after all mah. :spank:

Cane???? Oh no.... I'm the person who disagree using cane as disciplinary approach.

Not yet cane my DD2,cause when i said... \" I will go and bring cane in now,she will stop whatever she is doing wrong\"
Maybe gender really matters lor, when i asked her to go for \" pong pong\"( bathing ), she always come readily lor \"
Ask her to color and writing, she never disobey lor...
She knows how to \"po\" me ... she know i will become black face when she watch TV when i come home cause i dun want my DS1 to watch during wkdays, so the next time when her \"yeye\" met me in the lift outside the house and say \" mummy back lor \", my MIL relate to me later that DD2 freak out and was frantically searching for the remote control to switch off the TV... Which she had done it in time, as the TV was off before i manage to step in... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
好气又好笑

( see my reply for DD1 back on the other side... hee hee )
