My DD also had stellar hand writing for P1 and P2. They did not recommend for P3.

That Stellar handwriting book is all about writing...don't understand why P1s and P2s have to write that...actually penmanship. Shouldn't K1 and K2 be doing that :scratchhead:

Yes, this is the grammar book which I strongly recommend. http://i42.tinypic.com/262qk90.jpg\">

Yes, they should use this in K1 and K2. But in P2 book, they also introduced very minimal grammer in it. I can not exactly remember since the teacher passed the book only after all the exams.

At P1, serious stuff like right usage of grammar, sentence rearrangement and Maths are taught, surely by P1 the kids have more impt stuff to do than learning to write.

Not all P1 kids attend pre-school. Plus some kids need more time to write better.

A teacher here… To clarify to parents, the Stellar handwriting and penmanship books are more of a time filler- to be done during free curriculum time or as homework or when teacher is away on course or on mc.

                    Village Girl:

My girl (p3 next year) requested me to buy conquer s&t during this holiday. She did it on her own n said it was so easy. When I realized this is in her book list for next year, I bought score in s&t for her. She said it is more challenging and she refused to do it now. 😞

Conquer S&T is not able to provide kids challenging questions. There are just more connectors added. You can accompany your daughter when she attempts the new title and help her along the way. Motivate and encourage her to be positive...once she can handle tough questions, nothing is impossible for CA/SA. There will be some difficulty in the beginning from P2 to P3, P4 to P5.

Thanks Janet. I did together with her yesterday on the 1st exercise n she said it didn't seem as difficult as she thought. Hope she is more willing to do them now. I will continue to guide her. Thanks for the encouragement.

                      HI Village Girl,

I faced the problem of not able to find connectors in Conquer S&T…which was why I switched to another publisher. It’s hard to tell what connectors will be taught, even at P1…so I get one level ahead, hoping I won’t face this problem next year.

For S&T, my neighbour gave me this title P5/6 published by Ace (Can be found at Big Bookshop Clementi)…in it, I found a detailed explanation, including rules for Direct/Indirect speech. Another 2 friends recommended me this title by Carolyn Lee published by Marshall Cavendish. Title is
Primary 6 Synthesis And Transformation. Image too big to upload.

These titles are available only for P5/6, is it? Or avail for other levels as well? Thank you.
