Hi happy to see the ACPS thread active!

My son is entering P1 next year, he is very happy about starting primary school, although the main reason is he is excited over having money to buy food & drinks from the canteen on his own in pri sch! Hopefully he would not be scared off by the long queues during recess time though.

His cousins were also from AcPS but unfortunately cant show him around as they have migrated to Australia last year.

The class list doesn’t seem to be out yet so bag tags, name labels and any form of labeling have not been done yet for me. In fact we hv only bought the uniforms, books & bag. Good luck for us next year!

Welcome to ACS! The queues during recess are quite long. If your son feels he doesn't have enough time to eat, don't worry, they will have a designated snack time in class where they can bring biscuits or nibbles to munch on.

You may want to get a permanent marker and label everything including socks and shoes, cos trust me even those things can get misplaced, especially during swimming lessons.

              Hi clayman

Many thanks for your kind advice.

I’m sure DS will figure it out himself. I doubt I want to hang out in school everyday. He will have to learn how to fend for himself in time to come. I have total confidence in him that he will learn the necessary "survival skills" in primary school under the P5 mentor (hopefully).

Clayman- You have totally read my mind and answered my most pressing query! 😄 Thanks for being such a blessing and for the tips! Forthe school uniform how many shirts/shorts & PE attirE would u recommend and also, do they have corporate wear? Do they need name tags and what colour jackets/windbreakers are permissible? 🙂

Thanks in advance once more! God bless!

I would get at least 3 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts. Don't buy the PE tank top yet until your boy has been assigned his house. I don't know if the school bookshop still sells the tank top. You can check with them. No need to get PE shorts. I would also advise you to get your uniforms early from Bibi & Baba as they would need time to get the name tags done. They also provide the sewing service for the name tags. There's no corporate wear and any colour jackets/windbreakers are ok. Also, ACSP requires students from P4 onwards to wear all white shoes with laces. No velcro and fancy sports shoes.

:thankyou: Yup. Read about the no Velcro rule and got him a laced up pair of shoes already. Thanks for the pointers. 🙂 We just got him his school uniform and name tags. We were told it will take 4-6w for the name tags to be made. Will he need a temporary tag of some sort before the name tags are ready? 🙂

My Dad was from Oldham and hopes my DS will be in Oldham too lol.

Hi...no need for a temporary tag. It's ok till the name tags are ready.

Haha...I was in TKK in primary school and CKS in secondary, but my son got SVM which never existed during my time.

                    Yes. No velcro shoes.

Velcro shoes not allowed from P4 or P3? My son has slow motor skills. I am worrief about him having to wear laces shoes in P3 next yr.
