No need to worry abt the textbooks…things now…

It’s abt the projects and lecture notes…,and "out-of-the-box"…etc.
The kids will know how to survive when they get in…

AMC 8 results are out. NUSHS & HCI are both top schools in AMC 8 & have the same school score of 73. 2 perfect score students, 1 each from NUSHS & HCI. Most of those in Distinguished Honour Roll are from NUSHS, HCI, NYPS, NYGH & Open Category. Well done !

Hi Orangebelt, good to know you.

What is your DS's primary school?
            Is he in Einstein Club?
What scores he got for PSLE?& Subjects' grades?
            Hi Coddington,

If the kid is in GEP, will the school initiate the enrolment to the Einstein Club if the kid shows potential in Maths & Science ?

There is only AMC 8, AMC 10 & AMC 12. Both NUSHS & HCI boys took AMC 8 but the NUSHS boy is Grade 8 (equivalent to Sec 2) while the other is Grade 7 (equivalent to Sec 1) if I am not wrong in S'pore context. My DS1 is P6 this year, so he's Grade 6 taking AMC 8.

You can see the AMC8 results, besides some extremely top scorers,

                  and dist honor roll,
many of them (age 13, 14…etc) from these schools are floating below 21 points,
in honor roll, which they shouldn’t. And they did worse than those of primary school students who took AMC8.This is not-so-easy paper but NOT a highly difficult paper.

So at the end of the day, optimistically, 20~30 will be the shinning ones
                  from the 150-170.

You can join Einstein Club. They have no reason to reject you.

                    We are promoting creativity.
If you are that creativity, you can turn the club "upside down" in a way
you want to lead, this should not be a "rigid" club.

                      Hi Coddington,

I think you got my question wrong. What I want to know is whether the GEP school will initiate the enrolment if the child has interest & shows the potential or parents have to do it themselves for their kids. As for the acceptance into the club, I'm sure they will have their own set of criteria for admission & how the child has performed in the interview. As far as I know, NUSHS is different from other IP schools, they are more interested in those kids who are good in Maths & Science or have the potential, other credits like being in GEP, do not matter that much, although it is an advantage. Maybe you can share with us more on what the Einstein Club does to help the children to develop their potential, e.g. their activities, how many times of such activities per year and so on. Thanks.

Top 30 in NMOS can gain entry into Einstein Club.

Alternatively - based on the website:
\"Primary school students (Primary 4/5/6), who have a strong passion in Math and Science, may download the application form to join the club.
Our interviews are held every quarter. Shortlisted applicants would be invited for interviews either in March, May, September or November.\"
