I only bought the one from MC for P4 DD1. Can you share how you find between the Longman book compares with the MC book?

I bought the Longman for my P1 DD2..yet to...open ceremony!

Anyone to recommend on comprehension and cloze? As I find these two areas are more difficult. Also, what about vocabulary? Did saw many mentioned about Elite and all in one EPH. Any others good ones that I miss out? :scared:

It would be great if parents can contribute info like what Eng assessment (out of textbooks) that schools are using to boost results.
My son showed me the photocopy of 'Rules of Direct/Indirect speech' which his teacher gave the class. It was from Ace Synthesis & Transformation P5/6. His new EL teacher is really god-send.

I just happened to see my son’s kindergarten friend who is in a different school from my son during the school holiday. She just mentioned Ace English and on sponge math are extra things given to only the best class. On sponge heard before but never heard about Ace English. If I happen to see her again, will ask for more details.

Understand your frustration when coming to purchase of Assessment books as there are so many in the market!

May I ask how old is your child? Perhaps if in higher level, you may want to access his/her weakness based on the SA2 Result.

Just sharing what I went thru for my DD1, P3 this year for English. I have to reiterate again that this is my own experience and in no relation to any publishers nor authors

For Compre, I switch between the 1st 2 books in the above attachment. But DD1 prefers to do the 1st book (yellow cover by Learners) and completed almost 90%.

For Cloze, I switch between the above 2 - Cloze Practice and Mastering Cloze.

For Vocabulary, I use the one by EPH. Recently got the P4 Vocabulary alone type (green cover) for DD1. Quite good as there are notes to read on before attempting to the questions.

For All-in-One, I bought the P4 & P1 Elite for both DDs. Both tried to work on the book and managed to complete 2 exercises each. Quite a comprehensive book if you are looking for All-in-One type to practise.

But, I have to say every child is unique and different. Where a child finds an assessment book interesting, another child might not feel so. It will be good to spend sometimes at the book store, going thru the assessment books and get the feel of it Also, not too buy too many as child might be frightened off and refuses to co-operate & then :moneyflies: :moneyflies:

Thanks, Champion. I did take a look at some of those above. For the learners comprehension, I personally don’t like the fonts of the word. So already bias. Success in comprehension, find fonts are small and very dry kind of passages.

All are my personal views only.

For Cloze, has not compare yet. The rest I’ll look through in details the next time I visit Popular. Was given the 4 in one by one mummy whose kid did not even touch it.

Anyone to comment on Conquer Comprehension, Grammar & Vocabulary by Teachers@work after using them? What about the Casco ones?
