Hi prancingpony, thanks for your quick reply. Btw, do u know if they also sell VS school uniform? Thanks.

Hi Rylee, the VS school uniform is not sold by them. There is a temporary shop on the 2nd storey (one of the classrooms). The PE attire is sold there too. Try calling 63522741.

Hi victorian, I wil check it out in the next few days. Hope to get at least the uniform first before the 22 Dec sec 1 registration as it will be very crowded during that day. Appreciate your input.[/quote]Hi Rylee, that's a good idea, with so many people trying out the uniform on the same day. I think the orientation camp will take place in the first few days of school, so I'm guessing you can get the PE attire early at the same time as well.

Hi Victorian, yes the schedule already out in the VS website. But there will be a day orientation on the 29 Dec 11. Too bad, my DS has to miss it as we will be on holiday till 31 Dec. Will inform the teacher during the sec 1 registration day.

From your previous posting about the 2.4km run, I already informed my DS and he had started to practise and get prepared for the run.

        Regards.

Vendor for VS uniform is Darrell, mobile 96851803, different from the bookshop. If you want to avoid the queue, they are at the school on level 2, class 1E this week from 9am to 3pm. Close on saturday.

          Hope this info helps.

Hi Rylee, wow that means that his first day of school will be the start of the camp. That's nice too. The camp will be a good time to make new friends and get to know the class better as well.

Yes, running is a good preparation for the camp. Hope he enjoys it! πŸ˜ƒ

Hi Rylee, I think he'll be ok. πŸ˜ƒ I graduated just a few years ago. So if you have any questions about the school, I'll try to help out.

Victorian, you have always been a great help. From the time my ds joined VS 2 yrs ago, i remember you and a few others providing us with accurate information and encouragement. My ds is very happy in VS! Thank you for being kind to us VS parents!

Hi prancingpony, thank you for your kind words! I remember you asked about the secondary 3 subject combination and the secondary 1 orientation camp, and there was a concern about coping with 3 sciences and outdoor activities. πŸ˜ƒ How time flies! I think by now, your DS would have already chosen his subject combination for 2012, and will also be going for the secondary 3 camp in March 2012. Exciting things happening! πŸ˜ƒ

I hope I can continue to help to answer questions. There have been some new developments like the VCA-IP which affects the COP; that's something new to me too.

                        Zhuge:
Is there any indication that the IP intake of 90 will be increased for future intakes?

Any reason give that the IP intake is so small (90)?
The number 90 didn't appear mystical in anyway to me at all. I guess the reason why the new 7 schools were granted partial IP was because there are generally a significant number of students in every cohort in these schools that are qualified for IP.

My guess is that, from the estimation by MOE and the school, they came to the conclusion that each year there are approximately 90 students in each cohort that have a T-scores of 251-252 or more. Thus they decide to start the IP with 90 students.
