Ha.....no lah, not that we are not contented with $150. We didn't know about the Eagles award, & was only expecting the $400 scholarship mah. So when open letter and saw amount is $150...... naturally disappointed, thot how come can drop from $400 to $150 leh.BeContented:
DS just received another letter yesterday. When we saw the Eagle award $150, we were disappointed....thot supposed to be $400.
However, when we found out that Eagles is another award different from the scholarship, all of us were pleasantly surprised.
So in all, DS will be getting his $400 scholarship + $150 Eagle award. Now he's motivated to work for it next year. The best part is, DD damn envious & I'm sure she will also strive for it when she's P5 next year
So both now have extra allowance for their coming Japan trip. (DD also received some sch award + my incentive award
Wah, got $150 not contented. Haiz... My ds2 got eagles award too but we already knew last month bc the school already gave them certs for their awards on graduation night.
Share a story....when DD was in P1, she missed 1 mark to be the top in her cohort.....& when she realised #1 has a reward of $150, she was :yikes: . So she worked really hard and got #1 in P2....she happily opened her envelope only to find $20 instead. That look on her face  So same situation for DS....he thot why so unlucky, why $400 become $150
Tho I know it's not good to give monetary reward.....but since that's part of their 'carrot', I dangle some to motivate them a bit more
But of course, with T&C ie. ~80% goes into bank savings...can only spend 20%

We received Top25% certificate sometime in late Nov and we didnโt qualify for the award due to income cap. And yesterday, we received a good student award from our constituency. Does any parent know what is this award?

Hi, the edusave scholarship awards for P5 and P6 are $400 for top 5% and $350 for next 5%. About 2-3 years ago, I have a friendโs dd who received $450. Was there a change in quantum? What happen if we do not receive the award at the award giving ceremony? Will the award be returned to the school and given out by the teachers? Thanks!

Hi alng,
Not sure about 2-3 yrs back but for 2010 and 2011, the amount is $400 for top 5% and $350 for the next 5%.
DD was sick last year and had to miss out on the Edusave scholarship presentation ceremony but I managed to collect her cert and cheque from our RC after calling them to inform of DD's situation.
If you can't attend the presentation ceremony, do give your RC a call and arrange to pick up the cert and cheque. Depending on RC, some may require a letter to explain your absence.
