Hi ezmummy,Hi Hi,
Son will be joining the ACSP family in 2012. I'm so thankful for this thread and all the parents who have been replying. Really helpful to newbies like us.
I have a question about reporting time. The letter we received indicated that we need to be in school by 7.25am.
May I know if this is the normal time the pupils need to arrive in school? If not, what time must pupils reached school?
I ask because the school bus said the picking up time is 6.05am! (:O) Which to me, is way too early if the reporting time is 7.25am. As such, I'm considering alternative way to go to school.
Hi shalomger, which class will your ds be in? Mine will be 4I.
I'm wondering when will we know the house. Can't buy PE attire cos don't know the house. Somehow feels something incomplete
From the pick-up time you mentioned, I guess you are not living anywhere near school. The problem with the school bus, depending on the schedule of the driver assigned to your area, is that he will do 2 pick-ups. So those living further from school gets picked up very early and will usually be in school by 6.50am. Then he makes another round to pick up students living within a 2km radius of the school and drops them off by 7.15am.
As for the House, you will probably know during your DS's orientation week. I think your DS can get it from the school bookshop. Save you the trip to Bibi and Baba.
Cheers!! -
wow Clayman, you r so prompt! thank u!
so the official reporting time is 7.15?
u r right about our location. we r beyond 2km. reaching sch at 6.45. is really early. I rather he sleeps for 30 mins more. -

School starts at 7.30am but the school would prefer the students to arrive by 7.20am, if possible. -
Clayman, Ezmummy, my DS will be in 4H.

Where do u live? Maybe can consider carpooling or cab-pooling. -
the school buses probably target to get the students in school between 6.50~7.00 in order to avoiod the long queue into the cp after that. also, i think the traffic conditions along Bt Timah peak around 7.00 to 7.15...can be quite frustration is need to drive from 1 end to the other

-
traffic along chancery lane is really bad too.
if you drive into the carpark at chancery lane, it is a nightmare getting out if you are a newcomer. -
Ya. I heard it is v bad. The guard told me it is v jialak. And I used to study at Ngee Ann Poly and I recall how jammed up Bkt Timah area can get. Figure considering how many schools are there.

it's all about timing. I used to leave early to avoid the chaos...and if I happened to leave 10mins later, I may take another 20~30 more for the whole trip!! :scared:
-
yalor, timing is very important.
i used to leave the house at 6.30 am (cannot be 6.35) to send dd to her school and must reach school before 645am. everyone said i was :siao: to leave so early when we were just a 10 minutes drive away.
they forgot to factor in the queue at the school for drop off and if i leave the school anytime after 650 am, the traffic at dunearn road were already getting bad. i was caught in jam on dunearn road a few times when i left school at 7 and got home only at 7.30 - 7.45am.
now ds and i just walk to school. -
u live ard Upp BT?
I know what u mean…Q to make U-turn if got to go MGS too…Q to get into school…then U-turn to rejoin jam along BT…if lucky, u join Q into ACSP @ around Caltex…any later, the Q stretch up to the double white lines after the flyover.
Heard ACSJ starts later ard 7.45…so by that time BT no more jam.
