Mychildren:
Is it necessary to buy on sponge maths? Is it that good? Heard some are asked to get these.
Onsponge by Ammiel Wan is tough...just like that orange Challenging Maths also by Ammiel. Not all classes are using Onsponge. Get it only if teacher says so. -

Janet,
Thanks for your advice. For math, I prefer tougher ones. So now, I can let go of thinking to get on sponge.

Mychildren:
Actually I'm hands-off math bcos I simply don't understand it...my job is to ask around and drag hubby to popular. But orange challenging maths by Ammiel is challenging. With PSLE math moving towards Olympiad type, I'm avoiding even more.Janet,

It does sound scary that PSLE math moving towards Olympiad type. I do like and love math but I still need time to digest and grasp the concept before I can coach my children. In fact, my elder one is the one who is teaching me and his brother those difficult sums.

Son's tutor told me to get him to practise...relayed that to my hubby bcos I know absolutely nothing about models and those questions like 'how much did he have at first?' :siam: -
You still not so bad, got hubby to help.
My hubby told me I'm should focus more on their character building and why need so many assessment books. :slapshead: -
Mychildren:
He has to help bcos I really cannot handle math...that includes my younger one as well...she has already been taught heuristics at P1 :yikes:You still not so bad, got hubby to help.

I coach eng, Chinese, some science topics but maths is NO NO.
Character is impt too, as well as table manners...can't afford to have kids smart where books are concerned but have no manners or slurping soup at table. Sorry off topic liao. -
Janet,
Really thank you for answering all my queries. Now at least, I'm more sure what I'm heading for and what books I should get. It makes me feel relief and at this moment, not so confuse and worry. You are a great help!Once again, Thank you!!! :salute:

Don't say that...I'm the most hopeless where Math is concerned. Hubby also said I am not the physics type...that's why I cannot understand electrical circuit, magnets and chemical/kinetic/potential energy stuff :frustrated: For Math, my son used Onsponge...some other classes use PSP.Janet,
