      My daughter's latest spelling :

      vertebrate
      invertebrate
      octopus
      cuttlefish
      sea anemone

I am surprised when I saw the words. I wonder if any other kindergarten has spelling words of such difficulty at K2 ? Fortunately my daughter can spell these words easily because of her strong foundation in phonics. Other kids who do not know phonics very well must work very hard to learn the spelling.

But I do not think a kindergarten is considered good if they have very difficult spelling words.

I am much more impressed by their \"Junior Creative Writing\". Every child is encouraged to write a story entirely on his/her own.

This is the story written by my girl, entirely on her own, without any help from me or the teacher. I am very happy to see it even though it is not perfect.

The PCF kindergarten organized a \"Book Launch\" and invited all parents to attend. I had a chance to look at the stories that other children had written. Many of the kids require the teacher's help to correct the sentence structure, but I am impressed by their efforts. 2 or 3 other kids are able to write very well.

Parents were asked to write their feedback on \"Junior Creative Writing\". I suggested that they should let the kids write not only one book, but at least 1 or 2 sentences every day about what they have done šŸ˜‰ Writing sentences consistently everyday is better than spelling a few difficult words every week.

          smurf,
          Thanks for your compliments šŸ˜„

I am happy that she enjoys writing. I believe she is inspired by her kindergarten teacher Jenny to write.
