      psle sad mum:
wad r the appeal chances ? anyone appeal n succed? dd scored 233 wants to go to tkgs

psle sad mum, I know you are very worried now and looking for some assurance. However no one can guess the COp of TKGS at the moment. The appeal chance will be partly dependent on the COP. For eg. if this yr COP is 233 / 234, and your DD didn't manage to get in, the possibility of success for the appeal is higher as she is very near the COP. If this year's COP increase to 236, then the success rate of your DD's appeal will be affected too.

I wish I can give you more assurance, but since we have already done our part and put in our choice, we just have to wait till Wed to know the outcome, before we decide on the next step. Try not to worry too much, go shopping, go spa, watch a drama, etc. Relax and let's not think of things beyond our control.

Hi, will we know what’s the school’s COP on posting results release day? If we know, then maybe it is easier to decide on that day whether to appeal or not, maybe?

But if we don’t, then it’s probably better to just go ahead and appeal and hope for the best.

Bbee, yes you can know when you asked the sch. It will not be published in any form, but individual schools will know their own COP and inform parents when they ask about appeal. Last year, a fren tried to appeal and the sch admin actually told him COP and inform him too far off COP, no chance so don't waste time and effort.

what is termed as too far? Is 6 marks difference considered far? Wondering how to gauge whether to appeal or not...
I have a friend who had got 231 and appealed to a school with 237 and got in (was informed end Jan though).
                  appreciate advice please.

appreciate advice please.[/quote]My fren's case is a 6 points difference as well, and the sch admin advised him not to, citing that they had a big stack of appeal forms submitted , mostly within the COP range, whilst vacancies were only a handful.

I really do not know how much difference is acceptable. I supposed if you really feel strongly about going to the sch, you should go ahead and submit the appeal form then. For me, I think your fren's case is a little too late. As a parent and even in the shoe of the kid, I would really hate to see this appeal hanging over my head and not closed by early Jan. Need closure to settle down in sch and begin learning.

For your fren's case, I think quite a number of kids pull out of the COP 237 secondary school. So the school call down the list of waiting kids. One by one, by end Jan, mostly either already get used to new sec Sch, too lazy to change Sch or make new frens, so all don't want to transfer and your fren very lucky got into the COP 237 school.

Just cusious to find out, has anyone recevie any acceptance calls, emails or snail mails from RI for the \"Supplementary Intake\"?

I remember last year there were students with high PSLE score receive acceptance call the next day after they submitted the application even they were already accepted by other schools via DSA.

                        Anyone?

(PS : I have posted the same question in the DSA forum) 😂
