        2) For the Symphonice Band, How many days we need to be in school for practise?
        3) (very trival sorry  ) Is TKGS girls wearing black or white shoes?
        4) How are the teachers in the school?
        5) Tell me more about the school~
Sorry to be asking alot of questions.... 🤷
        Thank YOu :rahrah:
The new principal is Mdm Mary Wong. I am seeing her tomorrow for the first time as she just took over in December.
        1. Food and prices are okay, I guess, but we have been asking for vendor changes.
        2. To be honest, TKGSSB might have the most days, they have practices on Mon + Wed during holidays, + Fri during norm, + Sat for competitions.
        3. TKGians wear white shoes, black shoes are for prefects.
        4. Teachers are a mix. I like my teachers pretty much šŸ˜„
        5. Uhmm... I don't know where to start lol.
        You're welcome! šŸ˜‰

i saw you wrote you didn't really have the passion before you attend MEP, but now you seem to like it(ALOT). Aww... I really hope i was like that too because i wished through MEP, i could understand music better because i have little difficulty with the Grade 6 Theory now. I wished to fasten my speed of answering the questions.
To qualify for MEP, do we need to prepare some songs (2?? or more :? ) and i heard that need to sit for 2 test , i bet one is answering questions asked by the teachers (please tell me about what to answer because i am new) and one is playing your current instrument.
So when is the test dates (at your time)? Is it next year or just immediately in late December?
:imanangel: LOL I am really really excited~ :imcool:

Hmm... MEP is kinda different from the usual ABRSM stuff. It's theory combined with aural.

The theory test is very simple. The auditions will probably be held in Week 1. Just prepare 2 contrasting pieces of your standard (as I said before), after that, you'll have an interview with the teacher. Just answer confidently, there aren't any right or wrong answers. Best of luck! šŸ˜„ & c'ya in 2 days šŸ˜‰

I am a former student of TKGS, just finished O levels.

Thus, technically, I am an alumni of the school.

I want to warn you about TKGS.
It is a band 2 school and the average L1R5 of the cohort
before mine is approximately 13 points.
The school will take advantage of their students'
time and effort for their own gain.
Good schools (or at least seem to be) tend to take their students for granted and think that they are \"self-starters\".
They use it as an excuse to give poor/little teaching & guidance to their students.
The girls are shallow and immature. I would have liked a co-ed school but due to my father's poor judgement as well as my indecisiveness when I was 12 costed me dearly.
4 years of my life wasted like that. *snaps fingers*
The \"Syphilis\" principal god-knows has contributed s*** to help the students.

Take your pick. It may be a common trend among all such secondary schools in the league of TKGS.
However, I strongly do not believe so.
TKGS is a place you would want to avoid.

                    šŸ™

I heard that Mrs Lim is leaving us this year after 6 years of doing nothing
                    (at least IMO).
She was bad. She looked like a nice person but I hear that she is unreasonable and as a result, had driven many good teachers in the school to look for greener pastures.
The school during my 4 year stint, had undergone numerous switching of vice principals. (3 I think)

                    1)
The canteen is littered with bird droppings, worn wooden benches.
The selection of fare offered is sad. The price I think is reasonable as I am not poor. šŸ™‚

                    2)
                    Hahhahahhaha! šŸ˜†
Your life will be gone! XD
The only CCAs that you can get maximum results for the least effort is Drama CCA.
BTW, the CCA system has changed so it may not be applicable to you or your child.
Clubs will be very lax but will not offer lots of CCAs opportunities.
Uniformed groups in TKGS is seen as not glamorous & IMO does not seem to offer many CCA opportunities as well.
Other performing arts (except Drama) & sport CCAs require your full effort (I am sure it will be taxing).
Read my post on CCA to learn more about how I managed to get A1 for my CCA.

                    3)
Black shoes = For Prefects Only
Whites shoes = every student (with the exception of prefects)

                    4)
Which school does not have teachers?
The questions should be the quality of the teachers.
IMO they sucked. The school is biased.
Assuming you are terrible at a subject like F9 for geography for Prelims
(exam just before O levels), they will give you the worst teacher available for that subject for study sessions/remedials.
My class geography teacher was teaching the worst class of failures.
I was from a non-triple science class and thus, my class deserved a lesser skilled teacher. That's the way TKGS thinks it ought to treat their students.
Only students they deem \"got hope\" then they will put all their eggs in their basket.
Otherwise, they will not bother to invest good teachers for you.
Thank god I had tuition, which consequently put me in the A Class students study sessions.

                    5)
What more would you want to know?
The picture I have shown you of my former secondary school (TKGS)
                    is clearly a bad one.
I would opt to get my child out of the school and appeal for a better school like TKSS instead.
