Question is too complicated for dear autolycus.
Maybe should let dear autolycus answer the question.Snow Crystal:
:? Pardon my ignorance. I don't quite understand this part. GEP to get into ACSI IB track is different COP from mainstream?
If you're a GEP student who did not get into the IP track (NO NOT THE IB TRACK, THERE ISN'T ONE), then you must have scored under 255 or so, or you've been really unlucky, or you decided not to do the IP anyway.
Now, if the question is 'GEP getting into IP track is different COP from mainstream getting into IP track', well, no it shouldn't be. Shouldn't be. Shouldn't be.

Called the school today and was told that as of last year, they do not allow for appeals to IP. Any KSP has experience appealing?

jtoh:
He'll be placed in the SBGEP O-level track, yes. The school has four main tracks โย SBGEP/IP, IP, SBGEP/O and O. Yeah, I know, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.So if a GEP boy scores less than the COP for ACSI's IP he will be placed in the O level track?

Then again, he might be DSA'd into IP or he might have done well enough in HAST to qualify for IP. When the ACS(I) people say 'case by case', they mean it.

Thanks autolycus.

You mean they will ask borderline GEP kids to take HAST to determine whether they get into SBGEP/IP or SBGEP/O ?

If so when will that be ?
And what if the kid already has a HAST test result done at another school ? -
All GEP kids entering by DSA take HAST to determine which track they end up in. If the kid has had HAST elsewhere, I suppose they use those results if they are recent. I suppose.

The sms received indicate that DS will be going to ACSI express and reporting 8.30am tomorrow.
Thought they will only know if itโs IP or express tomorrow ?
How come there are people with 259 and only posted to ACSI express as indicated in the sms received this morning ? Someone posted that on the PSLE 2011 thread.
Do they just indicated everyone as express ? -
Couldnโt get into ACSI with a tscore of 246 inspite of putting as first choice. Last year COP was 245.
Anyone knows the COP this year? Had taken part in the DSA too. What are my chances if I appeal? -

The sms is sent by MOE. And as autolycus has mentioned the O and IP sorting is done by school. So should wait till tomo morning. The sms received indicate that DS will be going to ACSI express and reporting 8.30am tomorrow.
