I timed it before, 154 takes less than 20 min from Clementi MRT station bus stop to NJC. Maybe another 10 minutes down to SJI ?
If that's the case, it's a good option too. At least it's a direct bus. Many thanks.
Hi junrahmat, fully agree with you.Bbee:
These buses go to Botanic Garden mrt station, from the bus stop right outside Tanglin CC and vice versa: 151, 153, 154, 156 and 186.
My son leaves home at 6.30 am, and we live at Tanah Merah. If he is to take the school bus, he would have to leave home at 6am. That extra 30 mins is very precious; an extra 30 mins of sleep for ds

I'm posted to SJI with a tscore of 246. Hope to chat with all of you here.
Didn't know that the school bus picks up at clementi. When my son attended the orientation 2 years ago, I recall they mentioned that school bus picks up the far corners only eg Pasir ris.Bbee:
School bus pick-up can be very early, depending on where you stay, as early as 6am.
That's roughly the pick-up time for people staying around Clementi. But not confirmed because it depends on the final number of students taking the bus.
Does the school bus have a pick up from Woodlands? If yes, what time?
How abt the return journey? Bus-circleline-northsouthline? Which bus to take from school to botanic garden? How is the frequency? -
Does the school offer all the subject combinations?
I don't see science subjects on offer in the this website:
http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_SearchDtls.asp?strCode=7020&snm=ST.+JOSEPH%C3%84S+INSTITUTION
But the green book of school info does mention physics, bio and chem as being offered by the school?
Which info to trust? :? Someone studying in the school pls confirm. -

Went for the registration today. Was impressed with how well it was oraganised. All the activities of uniform purchase, book purchase went on smoothly with very efficient service from the student volunteers. All the students be it usherers or the onces at the bookshop/uniform shops went out of the way to help the new students and parents.
The briefing was short and sweet covering the important things and the school took extra effort to make the parents feel warmly welcomed. Sounds like dicipline is taken quite seriously. A good thing from my POV.
So far I like what I see of the school.
Next thing to look forward is the camp for the boys and orientation for the parents.
BTW the pricipal was not at the briefing. :skeptical: And there was no mention of the IP introduction or the holding site. Maybe will be discussed during orientation. -
tisha, i was there yesterday.may i know yr ds will be in which class?

Today I (with my mum) went to the school to check out how long it takes to get to the school by public transport and also to learn how to commute on my own. It was raining heavily and it took 1hr 10 minutes from admiralty to SJI.
There is a direct bus from Woodlands. 960. Probably fast to take bus then take train and then change to bus.
MRT from Admiralty to Toa Payoh
Bus 105 from T P to SJI
Walk 5 mins to the main gate.
On the return journey we took bus to Botanic Garden and then changed trains at Bishan. Return Journey took slightly less than 1 hr.
Will try bus 960 next week and then decide which is better.
BTW school bus would be better as it I was half drenched due to the rain.
Also I noticed a small gate near the bus stop. Is this open in the morning? -

Distance is a major concern for me, hence I called the bus operator to ask him. Ds not in SJI yet, we are considering applying. Bus operator said parents can look for him at the canteen on 22 Dec to make transport arrangement.
Oh, we did not know that the bus operator was in the canteen yesterday. Can we just call him to make arrangements?
