I think I look more like a blur hippo then a Kiasu hippo ..
Aiyah! Misplaced can buy from school immediately. Bibi and Baba probably looked at you and figured you were the kiasu hippo so must make more money out of you. :rotflmao:

[/quote]Good to have 2 ties. Keep one at home and one in the school locker. If the child forgets to bring the tie on monday morning, he can get it from the school locker. Cant buy as the bookshop is not open early morning.
They assess that a hippo will need 2 ties.vlim:

For me will probably need to get more for DS since ACSI needs to wear tie everyday. -
DS got into SJI with a Tscore of 246. He missed ACSI and Victoria(his first and second choice) by just one point. After much thought we have decided not to appeal to either of the schools even though we prefer them to SJI. Just want to have a closure to this PSLE and move onβ¦ Hope DS works hard and excels in SJI. From now on he will be very much on his own. Iβve decided to take a back stage(no more close involvement in his studies) and let him take responsibilty for his studies on his own. Wishing all 2012 Sec1 kids a very beautiful Secondary school life!

Well said. I am sure with the right attitude, he can excel in any school. I am doing the same as you, i.e. take a back stage and observe my ds. -
Hi, my DD got 249+3 and missed RV by 2marks. We are planning to appeal in, what are the chances of getting in through appeal? I have a child in RV and live near the school. Thanks!

one tie is enough unless you want to keep one in locker in case of forgetfulness
When I bought uniform at Bibi & Baba, the lady there said no need to buy tie as it will be provided during orientation. One should be enough rite?vlim:

they use it only one day per week, so some week may just forget ..... and you got to rent from the prefects and receive demerit points .... :rotflmao: :rotflmao: -

the book list says tie, but Bibi Baba said no need to get, refused to sell it to me last year ... say year 1 will get one free during investiture, and the senior will teach them how to tie it

book shop does not open so early for the late comers ..... so it will be too late if discovered lost / forget on the day it is needed -

anyway, what I'm going to ask ds to do is like what he did when he was in primary school. Always put his tie in his bag, wear it when it's necessary, after school take out and put it straight in his bag. It always worked when he was in Primary school - they also had to wear tie once a week during assembly. -

Ya I was thinking tt also .. Might not in time to buy a new one when discovered lost for both tie and badge.. So Afterall the sales lady is kind enough to advise me to buy extra ..
