Let's Talk About Pets ... Dogs, Hamsters, Rabbits etc

Sounds spooky to me. I think Iโd have a heart attack if a cat were to put its face up against mine and stared at me while I was sleeping.

I had near heart attacks the first few times too! -

I don't go for breeds. The first one is a mixed persian I adopted from SPCA. Second one is an exotic shorthair (jet black and always staring at me at night). Third is a local breed and fourth one is a Siamese we found abandoned at our ground floor.Namie:
I have 4 cats and they are all shockingly quiet. They don't even talk to one another and will talk to us only when they want to. Sometimes we see their eyes following us around the house, and wonder what they were thinking about. When I was pregnant with my son, one of them like to crept up to me in the middle of the night and looked at my face. All these behaviour made them very adorable.
We are thinking of getting a 5th one.
Do you go for certain breeds only?
My female cat used to do that too - stare into my face when I was sleeping. Kinda scary at first, but slowly got used to it.

Ha? U Allow them in your Bedroom .... and in your Bed?jtoh:

Agreed with jtoh - Spooky to have those eyes staring at U in the Dead of Nite! -
It is not so spooky when it is your pet. It will be like "why are you staring at me "insert petโs name"?"

Hi, newbie reporting.
We are planning to get a dog. But there are currently split views on this issue as none in the family has any experience with caring for a dog.
Need a mentor to โwalk me throughโ the A to Z of having a dog as pet.
Please pm me. Thanks a lot! -

In any case, just be reminded that the worst part of owning a dog is not having to walk or look after the dog. For me, it's when they inevitably get old, sick and pass away. The parting can be as traumatic as losing a best friend. That is really the only thing that is keeping me from getting another dog, after my last 2 died after 15 years.
Have you thought about adopting a dog from the SPCA? You would be saving a life. The staff there will give you lots of advice on how to look after the dog. -

I agree. My dog is currently 14 years old. She's tired a lot of the time but still relatively alert, especially when walks and food are involved. But she's an elderly dog now, so...
