I think it is difficult for ACS(I) when come to such situation. I understand they have to take care of those who appeal from ACSian family, ACS(P) and ACS(J), from the staffs, from the broad and from those who are related to the school, e.g. old-boy and Alumni club
I still find it unusual given that his score is at COP, no adverse comment from primary school and although from non affiliated schools, someone else from non affiliated school has gotten in via appeal. But if your decision is to move on and not pursue it, then yes, forget about the episode and embrace SJI. SJI is a good school too and has been diverting energy into new IP. so your son may have chance to join its IP or other schools in various window periods. Wishing him all the best in SJI! The race has just started, don't give up!Snow Crystal:
Not from affiliated school. Did not enquire much about him, though. And everything was ok in the documents. Probably other considerations. However, I think it is time to move on. DS posted to SJI. Am sure he will do well there. I like SJI equally. It was just the fact that he score exactly equal to COP that is troubling him. I convinced him SJI is equally good. Hopefully, few days, he will accept the decision and will be happy in his new school. -
Just found out from a friend that his daughter from NYPS got into NYGH with a t score of 254.
They actually tried DSA to NJC and was successful.
However since the PSLE went smoothly they decided to take their chance and didn’t take up the DSA offer to avoid any possible hassle.
Turned out to be a very wise decision. -

[/quote]Yes and the ACS connection is very strong as we know. That's why asked about whether his son is affiliated. But the other boy also no affiliation :? Anyway it's up to the school when it comes to appeal.Parsingh:

The beauty of affiliation. This year NYPS did v well in terms of quality passes so I guess the number of NYPS girls scoring 250-260 opting for NYGH is not small.Just found out from a friend that his daughter from NYPS got into NYGH with a t score of 254.

In most cases, people would have taken up the DSA offer first and think about the rest later

We too missed ACSI but by 1 point. Posted to SJI.
Initially we thought of apealling, but after going through the apeal form we decided not to and to just move on and make the best of what SJI has to offer us. Actually in the apeal form there is a lot of emphasis on ACS family(Ex boys who might be related to you) etc. Also whether u go to church, which church etc. So I guess all these will be weighed. Lets say they find two students of equal marks/similar portfolio, then these factors may kick in. Or these factors may out weigh marks/portfolio. We really don't know.
In our case since we do not have a glittering portfolio nor family ties, we decided not to apeal.
But at least you know the outcome soon enough. I'm sure our boys will have a grt time in SJI. Did you come on the registration day? Pls join us in the SJI forum http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=5835
see u there. :boogie: -

My DS's son's friend with score of 260 appealed to RI and successful. I think they have sorted out the s1 posting appeal cases. The rest is probably the dsa appeal cases. Perhaps now Mrs Lim is talking to moe minister, mr heng!
Yes, a few of my friend's DS already recevied news from RI for thier appeal. One with Tscore 251 appeal via sport and another one with tscore 260. Both with S1 posting and GEP student, no DSA to any school.
Hi blur dad, may I know which sports did the 251 appeal used. My friends sin also appealing via sports. -
