Choco05:
The band and other PA groups could be practising for CCAO? They performed during CCAO in the past. Not sure about next year's CCAO.friendship:
Why are RGS girls practising band today? Is it a norm that you all have to go back to sch last week of Dec?
It depends on the CCA, especially CCAs like the PAs and the Sports CCAs should have practice/training during holidays. It doesn't have to be last week of Dec, it's actually throughout the holidays. -
I guess last year Floridaβs trip was the last trip as a family.

If you mean you can't go on holidays because of all these pracs, it's not that serious really. you can skip them if you go overseas

I'm not sure about other CCAs, but for basketball training starts in the first week of December, thrice a week afternoons if I'm not wrong. And I would guess that all sports have similar training schedules. Competitions start early in the year for some sports, so this period is very crucial. It is especially so for the Sec 1s who are to go into C division next year but may not have prior training so you'd have to build up your foundation well, and to reach zonal/national levels in a year is no exactly an easy feat.friendship:

No, family trips are still possible. You just have to time them. We're still doing family trips. -
Choco05:
But if your trips are too long/too often and you skip too many practices, the coach may give you the 'black face treatment'/'cold stare treatment'. And there are also many overseas trips organized by the school though, so that may limit your availability during some parts of the hols, but certainly you can go there after. Bananamonster and I (and some other people lurking in this forum) went to Australia for some Math thing, Shooting went to China, Choir went to Vienna/Prague, etc. These overseas trips can't skip luh. However based on the timing of most activities I'd say that early November or beginning-middle of December would be the best time for holidays - during June holidays practices are intensive for many CCAs, plus there are projects and homework and SAs once school starts, for end November there are many school trips, end December there's CCA training, leadboard activities, and stuff.friendship:

Remember, spending time with your family and keeping sane is very important too. Simply slacking and enjoying your time with family and friends instead of bustling to and fro - that lifestyle does not stop when you enter RGS. Life is short, enjoy it any way you can. -
