      friendship:
why year 1 students have to buy Geography text book 3 and 4? where are the text book 1 and 2?

even physics and chemistry doing 'o' level?
Because IP is basically an accelerated syllabus of O'lvls. The books are not only used in year 1, it will follow you all the way to year 4 i think.

Other IP schools are also like this. Time to get used to it X( We no longer follow the standard O lvl syllabus, but we skip ahead.

PRGS doesn't require time commitment, unless you offer to help out in organising the various PRGS activities or if you're in the committee. They do organize talks which are very relevant to Year 1 parents so you might be interested in joining PRGS for those.
        Thx jtoh

By the way, is it advisable to join PRGS? I am a working mum, thus not sure of the time commitment.

Just to check, on the day of reporting, we were told to bring report book & EESIS letter, but eventually, none of these were submitted to the school. So just wondering if other gals oso face the same (ie) report book still with them? For that matter, do we still need to bring the report book or EESIS letter on 1st day of school?

I don't think the report book is needed, but should bring EESIS letter in case šŸ™‚

Ok thanks, since week 1 is basically orientation, so what do the gals bring on the 1st day of school, besides pencil case & maybe some writing material like notebook? Textbooks I presume is not needed, so what else to bring?

Um, what exactly must we wear on the first day of school? Thanks!

Culottes and t-shirt. Didn't your student leader tell you?

As in PE t shirt? Thanks!

Other than that, not really anything else I guess. you'll get to know who your form teachers/classmates are. Pretty exciting šŸ™‚

Haha I'm probably writing to a few too. It should be easy luh. Class lists aren't even secured so you can just randomly look up the names with a click of the mouse. Hard to remain anonymous eh?

I remember you shouting in victory after the math EYA paper came back:) Didn't get killed by getting a 3.2 didn't you šŸ˜„

Well anyway Ro & Ju is so troublesome to read, have to keep reading the notes at the bottom to try to make more sense of what they're saying._.

Haha, my 3.6 was super borderline okay like 71. I struggled a lot with math but well, I would like to maintain my 3.6 next year thank you very much šŸ˜„ Yeah I almost cried when I got it back!

Can't be worse than the Giver. The Giver was like Inception.

The Giver is nice! I read it dunno how many times in Pri school... šŸ˜„

Haha and if you don't already have a sleeping bag maybe you could try to borrow/buy one, because you'll have to camp overnight in school! Haha it should be awesomely fun. Year 1s have a lot of bonding activities and they'll also be writing their own play and casting and performing it when the parents come. And they'll also be introduced to the Raffles culture through ... some activities šŸ˜„ And also knowing their houses and starting House Practice! šŸ˜„
