psle sad mum:
Hi, For the interview with TKGS, when will the school inform if the interview / appeal is successful or it's a another few days' wait
my dd just submitted the form with her acheivements and in the evning the school just called her. btw, how much did ur dd scored , she scored 233tamran:
Hi PSLE sad mum,
I have also appealed for tkgs for my girl but so far no news. Could you share with me what the procedure is like? School contacts you etc? Also is your girl using CCA etc anything else to appeal? Greatly appreciate your input.
Its so agonising waiting for the school to call ! And is there another few more days for the successful student to accept thereby opening up a vacancy in another school ? This cascading effect sure is gonna take a long time !

sigh i just came back from my interview i think i screwed it up…

i’m not a good speaker so yeah.
for my case they didn’t look at any portfolios or things.
they only referred to my appeal letter.
it depends on your choice to prepare or not.
sometimes it may not be a good thing to prepare since you may be too nervous during the interview and you forget what you prepared and you’ll be stumbling to remember what you have prepared, but it would be a help if you practise TALKING to someone like an interviewer, but not prepare for the questions. If you’re shy like me you have to really get over it and be more friendly and talk more…
take note of what you wrote on your appeal letter.
they’ll ask you things about what you wrote.
also, read up on the school.
they would be asking things like why you like the school…
my case was different, kind of
they only asked a few "typical" questions, like why do you like our school etc.
they kept asking me a lot of questions (probably because i don’t talk that much
)
and for my case they continued asking questions from my answers.
they asked many questions i didn’t anticipate and they were rather hard to answer
depends on the school or your interviewer actually… -

Looking at your message, I am sure you have gained a lot from this experience which even if it is not useful now, it will definitely be useful the next round.
All the best! :rahrah: -
I just called MOE. For government schools, they have to wait till 31 dec when the mass appeal exercise is complete (which are for transfers due to medical conditions etc) then the schools can take in appeal students, so verdict will only be out next week (sadly after school starts). That explains why some schools are not able to tell us the appeal results this week. For automomous, independent schools etc, they can start processing appeals from 21 dec onwards. This fully explains why we are getting different response from different schools.

PSLE sad mum, I do not know about the type of interview for TKGS, but I supposed you should prepare in the line of \"Why choose TKGS?\", \"How can u contribute to the sch?\" and \"about yourself\" type of questions. Hope this helps. -
