Hello all,


Happy New Year. Can’t believe the holiday is going to be over soon. Hope everyone is ready for the new school year.

Hi Ivy, my DS took school bus back from school this year. Will let him take school bus back from school again next year. We stay in Bishan area. So most days my DS only reached home around 1:40pm daily this year. With a new bus vendor next year and new school hour, I also wonder what time my DS will reach home next year.

Hi Astee, do you know what DS need to bring to school on the first day of school? The school gave a list of things to bring for P1. Now going to P2, we don’t really know what to bring on the first day of school. Hope he does not need to bring everything.

Yes, soon school will reopen and with the new school hours, i believe everyone will be feeling the excitement. I know i will miss my 2 children at lunch as they had been my lunch partners for the last 3 years (my gal) and 1 year (my boy)...sigh. Luckily there is a day of early release and my lunchtime is more meaningful...

I had packed my DS son P2 bag and i had included all the 2A textbooks and workbooks. Leaving the 2B at home. FT will usually collect all the workbooks on day 1 or 2. No need to pack everything but remember to give extra pocket monies for lunch as well.

Did the new bus operator ask for increase in bus fees? They ask for S$10.00 extra and we are staying 1 street away from the school. I am just wondering since the News Letter issued by the school mentioned no increase in bus fees, why are they asking and how can I report them. :sad:

Actually I missed out the deadline to I form the new bus operator about my DS taking school bus. Today trying to call them many times but no one answer the call :-(. I don’t know if the number is correct. Yes the letter from school indicated that there is no increase in bus fare. If they ask for extra, I think you can call up the school to report them. As the bus operator’s tender to provide service to students should be approved and selected by school. I think it is not fair for them to raise fee after they win the tender. I will call up the school tomask about the new bus operator.

I managed to get the bus vendor after calling the school. The school gave me two handphone number instead. Yes the bus vendor told me the price has increased another $10 for two ways. But for my case which is only one ways, the increase is $14! The vendor cited it was due to smaller bus and seat belt. But the bus my DS took this year is also not big bus and already equipped with seat belt. But I am not sure if every kid gets a seat with the previous vendor. It seems like the school knows of the price increase when I called up the school just now. I also not sure who to feedback on this. Sigh. When only one bus vendor is allowed to ferry the students, parents like us is helpless when it comes to fee increase :-(.

Wow, only 1 way cost $14.00 extra? There was news that school bus fees will not increase in the newspapers. You can check it out if you want to. The reason that they gave me was the same. I insist on paying the old fees and they decided to use a big bus 23 seater instead. Did you agree to pay the extra? The school General Manager can't make decisions and he left everything to the bus operator. I must call the school again and maybe ask to speak with the Principal. Wish me luck.

The guy told me the 24 seater is a small bus! The bus my DS took was the small bus that was different from those they took for excursion. And already had seat belt. Worse case is that the previous vendor already increase fee by $10 middle of this year. For my case it was a wooing $22 increase from this year Jan to next year Jan!! Did u manage to call the school and talk to the principal? Let me know and I can call her too if need.

I decided not to let my DS take school bus. The teacher from the student care he is attending will pick him up instead. I hope that way he will get to student care earlier to have a good rest in the afternoon.
