Back then, the form teacher writes the Name on the Exercise Book. I am not sure if they still do it these days. Hence i wasn't aware that we need to write the name onto the exercise book until it is P2.

          lionheart,

I had wanted DD1 to write the name herself. Guess I will wait awhile, see if I can see any teachers to ask during the first few days of school. ๐Ÿ˜„

Heโ€™s going to have to live with the name there - so I think I wrote DS name for him (not that my handwriting is nice). Havenโ€™t touched his exercise books yet, maybe I should get around to it (make sure beautiful mood then maybe handwriting a bit nicer).

I cannot recall DS1โ€™s exercise books, image just donโ€™t come back; but I am fairly sure should be pen. Pencil can be rubbed off (by contact or on purpose) very easily.

For the square boxes exercise books, do you write the Chinese names? TIA

Yes. A bit odd if it is English right?

Been making DS1 do vocab exercises and came to the realization that exposure to everyday things is very important.

Eg, question ask for type of leaf pp use to wrap food? I asked him how he knew what leaf it was (banana) and he told me that it's becos pp use banana leaf for nasi lemak. DS has never had the chance to bake cookies/cake, so he had no clue that he should sift the flour (not stir) before adding in the egg.

So yes, parents, please engage your child in everyday things - it may seem mundane to us but yet this little nugget may come in use. I now know I should have to do a lot more.

Happy New Year in advance to all HWS parents (current and new and even prospective)! ๐Ÿ•บ

                    Thanks hquek for the advice.

Hi simsl_sg, is it compulsory to wear only HWS jacket while in school? Can we wear our own which could be any color? OMG, if so, then i must make another trip to school to buy it already. During school term, parents are not allowed to enter the school at all times is it?
