if the amount of worksheets from the school can be a guide on the emphasis placed on a certain subject, I noted that DS class did a lot of Math exam format type papers compared to Science (after the prelims). Noticed this while clearing his primary school stuff over the weekend.

In wgps, they put kids in ability grouping for mother tongue eg CL 1/ CL 2 etc. Higher Mother Tongue is offered for P5/P6 kids only but p1-p4, lessons are paced according to ability grouping it seems.

Hi , i am new here and my boy is born in Yr2008.

We are now staying within the 1KM distance (wgps , jwps & frontier) and I just want to know when can I start register for PV with wgps ?

Or should I just wait for Phase 2C because we will have 2 ballot slip as SC , thanks .

For example, if your child starts P1 in 2015, it means you have to register him in 2014 so the PV should start in 2013. Better to check with the school how they organise PV.

There is a new school being built near wgps; next to blk 735. When it starts classes in 2013, the school will take off some intake load from wgps. This year, there was no need to ballot during phase 2C for jwps because a lot registered for frontier.

What should P2 kids pack in the bag for the 1st day of school? Do they need to bring all the texbooks, workbooks, and files? TQ

                  Hi Lexmark

I’m also wondering what to pack for my gal. Do you think we shd let them bring the same stuff as they did when they started their P1?

Yes, Giggler1, I am thinking the same thing too... its really heavy to pack all the stuff. Oh, I wish any kind parent of P3-P6 could share their experience with us...... :?:

                      Hi,

According to my experience, you can pack the the text book and acitivities books for the 3 main subjects first.

                        scm292:
wgps use the same text books as most primary schools so i dun think that the Math taught are of a different \"standard\".

fyi, my son's class did not use math text book since P5. Next year (2012) he's P6, he's teacher has asked us not to buy the math text book.

Since P4, he has been given high order thinking math to pratice on and most of the question in SA1 & SA2 are high order thinking math which you can't find in the text book.
