Let me attempt to clarify this. Based on the current value-based system, the use of handphones should be allowed at all locations but before the first bell and after dismissal. People are encouraged to remember that school is an environment for learning and so phones should be used only for contacting parents. Hence, there is no need to use them during curriculum time. However, after classes have ended they can be used anywhere.
Can DD bring her mobile phone to school. Quite sure she can't use it during schoolhours of course. But if I need her top give me a ring when she reaches school on the 1st day (she is taking public bus herself), can she call me in the school compound before school starts or she has to call me before she passes through the school gate ?
After official school hours, can she call me in the school or is that prohibited ?
Must she seek approval to take a mobile phone to school (like most primary schools where you need written approval from school admin office?)
No approval is needed, however parents are reminded that electronic devices are taken to school at the pupil's own risk. Phones also cannot be used during any activities like CCA unless permission is given. However, they can be used after the activities end. Proper use of phones is expected. No social networking or games, especially if on the school broadband as this clogs up space that people might want to use for studying purposes.
Technically, RGS cannot control what the students use on their phones if they are not using the school broadband. However, as mentioned above, the rules work on the principle that the school is an educational institution and so time spent inside should be constructive. Blaring music etc is definitely not allowed as it causes disturbance to others. -

Also, for Robotics CCA, is it difficult to get in? If I took part in competition before but diddnt win anything, will it help or will it be detrimental?

My schedule would be like(this year):
Monday: FREEE YAY! Ends at 2pm, reach home at around 3.15pm. Eat lunch, slack around, do homework.
Tuesday: guides ends at 5.30pm, reaches home at around 6.45pm. Must catch daily drama, do homework.
Wed: Jap ends at 6.45pm, reaches home at 8pm. Do homework.
Thurs: FREE YAYY! Ends at 1pm, can reach home at 2pm:D Relax around, slack here and there. Tuition at 5pm-7.30pm. Do work at night.
Fri: Sometimes has guides, ends at 5pm, get back at 6.10pm. Slack around the whole day and sleep extra early. Try to finish all hw for a nice weekend. Usually does not succeed.
Sat: Big slacking time! Somewhat like banana's saturdays.
Sun: Chiong all jap homework like crazy. Watch a new ep of anime. Slack around some more and get ready for another doomed week to start.
And i didn't indicate the time i sleep, cos it changes everyday. Usually i sleep around 11.30-12. And on all of these days i surf the net, watch tv and do slacking things. Cos i like slacking.
