For parents who currently have kids in SST, what are their school hours unsually like? Do they have extended school hours, suppl classes etc. ?

I think same like other sec schools, except they start a bit later. Fm Tue to Fri, they report by 7.40am and classes start at 8am. Monday classes start at 9am but they finish classes later at abt 3pm instead of 2pm.

Only those students who have been identified for Supervised Study Classes have to stay back after school to complete their homework or assignments.

Other than that they stay back for CCA or activities.

Hi BlurBerry, can I know are the classes streamed according to PSLE scores?

I only know they are grouped into HMT and MT classes.

After T2, some students will be chosen for Talent Development Program for Maths and/or Science. They will attend special classes together during curriculum time.

Ha ha, don't need to do that. Could be those students are a little smarter than others or they may just be more hardworking. All students are given equal opportunity to perform so doesn't really matter which class.

You will soon know the culture of the school when you get your first 'lecture' fm the VP. Don't get me wrong, she's great....fm parents' point of view, of course.

Haha, okay thanks. Are there going to be more CCAs added in 2012?

For the 2011 intake, the school allowed the students to propose new CCAs but they must gather enough ppl to join. I suppose they will do the same next year.

What CCA are you interested in?

Perhaps Robotics Club or Cross Country. My stamina is not good but I love running, is it advisable to join Cross Country?

For my kids I always prefer physical activities and preferably outdoors. Students usually spend a lot of time indoors so it is better to hv some activities to let them exercise and get their eyes off the Learning Device (ie. the MacBook).

T1 will be a busy time for new students so there's no need to make up your mind abt CCA until end of T1. There will be a CCA fair so you can see what's available and try out some of them before deciding. There may be new CCAs added by then...fingers crossed.
