      a child:
Hey everyone, here's a (belated) happy new year πŸ˜„

Anyway I think RGS people rank high among chatterboxes or something, the thread's moved so fast. Is anybody ('s dd) posted to 113? Maybe I can be an angel/god-angel or something πŸ˜„

Oh and first day of school do go to school slightly earlier as there may be a horrific jam caused by the parents from SJI, SCGS and RGS sending their kids in for the first day of school. Also for the first few days if your dd is just on time, like reach at 716-720ish don't bother to go back to class, just go for assembly as it's not a must to go to class first - I didn't know that and I almost got booked heading for assembly from class late.

And orientation will be super fun and it's the time when you make tons of friends and bond without having to bother about academic stuff. Enjoy! πŸ˜„
      jtoh:
The drop-off at RGS itself will be rather smooth because only the Year 1s have school tomorrow, aside from the student leaders and helpers at CCAO. πŸ™‚
Thanks for the great advice, a child and jtoh. πŸ˜‚

It follows the L1R5 calculation, 5 core subjects + best 2. But since most sec 1s take 7 subjects that means every subject's GPA added together, divided by 7. If you have 3rd Lang, then you can choose to use your 3rd Lang GPA instead.

It's kinda confusing, but it's written down in the student handbook.

The average GPA? i don't really know. How good it is depends on people's standards. For perfectionists they want a 3.9, for normal people 3.6 is already very good. But for me as long as you survive you are very good.

Why we don’t need to buy Home Economic text book? different class will do different things is it? I remembered we did one semester cooking and the other semester sewing. Is it still the same? There is no need to buy apron?

Is there a practical cooking/sewing exam every semester?

                      Hi,

It is true that for aesthetics different classes do different things at a time, a bit like sciences. Last year the sec 1s did: Sewing(poise and confidence), Music(composing), Dance(and general music) and Design and Technology.

Home Econs should be held in year 2.
