For dance, PE and gym - it is PE attire. Your gal will put on the pinafore over the PE attire, and remove them during the Dance/PE/gym lessons. I think for P1, they need not put on their Pinafore after the lessons…so it is best that you prepare plastic bag for them to fold their Pinafore. When my gals were in P1, I gave them separate bag so that they will not squeeze the pinafore in their sch bag like "giam chye"

Chinese cards = Zi bao bao?? I dun think u need to bring them to sch so soon, teacher will advise later. For my #1, her teacher asked her to bring the relevant cards when they were doing the respective chapters. For my #2, she had to bring the entire box and kept in their locker throughout the term.

Based on experience, once you leave the child at the gate, there will teachers/prefects to guide them to the sch hall…so not to worry.

        Bus fare
I think the fare has increased this year right? I used to pay $80 - round trip from Bishan/TPY. This time round, the driver informed me that I had to pay $90 or $100 (if I opt to take the 4pm bus but unlimited ride per mth). Last time the 4pm bus and 6pm bus was per trip basis…$5 and $10 respectively…very ex. If I have 2 gals coming home at 6pm, I will be paying $20 for that trip…more ex than taxi (inc surcharge). This time, I know one of my gals is staying back at least once a week for her chinese supplementary…so I guess I will opt for the additional 4pm service. I asked if there will be 6pm service and the bus operator said he has no ideas…hiaz

The bus drivers whom I met are quite friendly Uncles…though I hv to say their fares are a bit high, but so far their buses are quite new and clean…their boss Mr Ng and his wife also very amiable.

Hi Mummies, I have the same questions as all of you, seems like some of the books are being kept by the school even though it was not listed in the first day items… i have packed all of them and will bring them tomolo.

            Hi P1 Parents,
How was the first day of school today ?

Pinafore - my daughter always stuffs her pinafore into her bag, so it looks like giam chye on days she has PE or dance. But understand for P2 onwards, the girls are required to wear the pinafore after that.

As for Chinese cards, her teacher has not used them at all.

              Hi Janet and all

Day 1 went well. I like the bus uncle and auntie. I took bus bk and there seems quite orderly. We were the only one to alight so I m v thankful.
My main grip is communication and communication. in this aspect, the school has fall short of expectations. That’s why I thank god for this thread. It’s really a great support and informative tool. Today I found out that dd has a new form mistress call Cynthia morier and she was never introduced during orientation. Mrs lee is now the co form mistress and teaches only math! Hmm!
I also wish that we had not been chased out from school, something I feel contradicts with what p said during orientation , that parents are allowed only on day 1. Hmm hmm…
              Anyway dd seems happy.
It’s a big change for all of us, ESP going to bed at nine - major struggle e her on that.
Sigh I think I am the one with going to school anxieties. I m sleepless now at 4 am:(

I think the sch comm is really up to individual teachers… The letter given out to my girl was clear and the teacher explain the content so that the girls can comrade home to tell us what it is abt. I didnt stay in sch throughout but did any mummies stay to take pics of recess?

                    Hi Mummies,
My daughter is in P2 this year. Hubby & I didn't stay in school to see her last year...she had a good buddy (P5s). We had our worries because she is so petite...anyway, she got thru P1 happily.
