GEP 2011 - Screening & Selection

First day of school in NH, DS2 got to take a English & Chinese test before he knows which TAG class he will be going to. Any idea what's the difference ? Previous years same practice ? ?

Really? I didn't hear this test from my DS. He just complaints most of the time teacher spoke in Chinese which he was not used to.

Does anyone know how many days the P4 GEPer need stay back, I counted one day for CCA, for day for CEP, other than that any other day? And for CEP, when it will end?

CEP only for P4 and P5.

Kekeke... maybe this teacher most likely his form teacher is a Chinese Teacher. Is your son formerly from a SAP school?

This such a difference from NYPS, the P4 geppers have a series of fun activities planned for them like Amazing race, Forest Adventure. Hope that your DS2 will enjoy his new school.

Really a big difference! I didn't hear from my son there are so many fun activities in NH

Maybe from past experience, they realised that some geppers din performed well in EL and CH hence better have an idea and be prepared. I think this might be better for the kids as the teachers will be able to help the 'weaker' ones earlier. If I remember correctly, my DD was given some sort of Math test and those whose did well would be asked to participate in Olyp. competition/contest.

for NH , the EL & CL test is selection test for BEP , the GEPPER has to be good in both language


Unlike NY ,which only send the talents for Olympiad competition, HPPS welcome all students to take part in the competition , and external vendor are hired to conduct the training in the school for those that are keen .
