There is NO STANDARD criteria for PV selection.

Individual schools manage their own PV scheme. They decide their own criteria, who they want or don’t want, how many to take, etc. And they do not need to provide any reason on why any applicant is not accepted.

So far NO school has published their selection criteria.

Some schools had advised applicants who stayed far away to try other schools, as based on their past years’ balloting distance, these applicants will have no chance to even participate in the ballot.

        MAWong:
How long do we have to stay in a property in order to qualify for the <1km category?

        sky55:
I'm a bit confused....Renting a place near to school will qualify u less than 1km? If I have got a 2nd home address, which I can use; does that mean I'm qualify to less than 1km?

            Thanks Bigdevil for the info.

            🙂

Moving near the school may not guranteered a place as needs balloting so our best option is to get a place near the schools which either of us are alumini/old school students.
However, these schools are in Bishan, Serangoon and we stay and work in the west. Now just lookign around for a good place to move. The only good thing is that we still have a few years to consider.

Hi tem, there are still many other good schools around. Let's plan early and if you want, you can always discuss here as there are many experienced parents here willing to share their advice and experience. 😄

Just want to find out when will be the suitable time to register for parent volunteer?

                Thanks

                  hi cutemummy!

my girl born 2008, i was recommended to submit PV application in June 2013. But some very popular schools may accept earlier. best call the school of your choice.

                  HTH!

P1 registration year for 2008 children is 2014. So your PV duty cycle should be from July 2013 - June 2014.

You will likely be too late if you only submit your form in June 2013 since schools normally take months for the selection process.
