Hi csb,Oh, 2 of my son's classmates will be in 1B. Can't remember which class another will be in, and another girl's mother didn't know she had to go on 21 Oct, and so we still don't know which class she's going.
My son will be in red house? Yours?
Just curious, did they attend the same pre-school???? Haha just trying to establish the trend if there are kids of some pre-schools have better luck in joining MBS. -
My P2 girl was in 1B. Observed that the same teacher taught 1B this year as well. I am not sure if she will be teaching 1B again next year.
She is Mdm Lim. I personally find her very motherly. So the kids like her.
This year 1B had a very good chinese teacher. Mdm Soh. She is also my girl’s P2 CL teacher and having communicated with her on previous occasions, I really appreciate her as she observed the emotional and academic aspect of my child. She also provided good feedback on how we can help the child. Definitely not those remarks that ask me to send my girl for tuition. But rather, things we can do with her to help her. When my girl was weak in her compo writing, she also conducted tuition classes to help them along.
So far the teachers I encountered are good. Eg. my son’s P1 chinese teacher this year Miss Wong. She is also their form teacher as their english/ maths teacher is Miss Lim (P1 level mgr). She did a good job in making chinese learning interesting for my son. We observed that he improved alot. My son’s handwriting sucks. During meet the parents in mid yr, I was telling her that I planned to ask my son to practise writing during hols as I bought the writing books. She was like… better not overdo it otherwise we will kill his interest.
Miss Lim (P1 level mgr) is also great in creating discipline and producing neat work. We cannot recognise my son’s handwriting in school as it is so neat (I can’t say the same for his other enrichment lessons). He didn’t want to "incur the wrath" of Miss Lim, so he made sure that he write neatly, pay attention in class, etc… I am happy that he has strict teachers. -
I was just wondering if the reg phases played a part. ie old boys n gals' kids 1 class, p2b 1 class. :?

Might not be so. I know of 2 boys going to the same class next year, but they registered under different phases. 1's phase 1, and the other's phase 2b. -
Yah I don’t think so too. In my son’s class, he has some classmates who joined under 2C.
Then for my girl, I registered her under 2A1 but she had classmates under phase 1 and other phases. Importantly, when I speak to the parents, they are not ex-students. -

Yes, they are in the same kindy. There's only 1 class of K2, and out of ds' class of 18, 5 are going to MBS next year. Their Chinese teacher's son is also going there too.
I don't know if this kindy has a history of high MBS students cos my son joined it only in the 2nd half of K1. I guess 1 of the reasons is the proximity of the kindy to MBS. -
Hi Csb,
Just curious. What kindy is that? -
