Hi anyone with child in Mind Stretcher High Achiever class? I am in a dilemma whether to let my son switch to the high achiever class (he is P3 next year, currently in achiever maths class) although he had the placement test and was accepted by mind stretcher high acheiver class for maths. I am not sure whether he can cope with the ‘High Standard’ fro the high achiever class.

According to the center, concept will not be taught and high achiever mainly deals with the IQ questions and challenging problem sums. Wonder if concepts are not taught will the kids be able to copy with the high achiever class. Any parents with kids in the high achiever class and what is the main diff betw their achiever and high achiever class, is the standard of the high achiever very high / difficult?

Many of my friends put their kids in mindstretcher, they told me the fees are inexpensive and the top PSLE students are always from there. However, after reading through treads, I will have to reconsider on where to enrol my boy. 😉

It seems that the top Chinese PSLE scholar this year also has tuition at MindStretcher.

Perhaps a better way tuition centers should measure themselves is "value add". How much improvement the children are making rather than their absolute score.

My son was transferred to P4 GEP program this year. Currently he is attending home based group tuition and I am afraid the standard may be too low for me. I am considering to let him attend MS english lesson at Punggol/Serangoon or Bishan.

But after reading through this forum, seems like MS is not really that good.

Does anyone has comments on P4 classes at these centres to share?

Does Mindstretcher's curriculum really stretch the children's ability? A few shared that for the high ability classes they do not teach concepts at all and that they stretch the child's concept retention with challenging and out of the box type questions. Can someone verify? I went to eXplorer kids indoor playground at AMK Hub last two weeks and chanced upon an MS branch there (same level).. am keen to find out more to see if it can do DD2 some good with some challenge as she is placed in the first class this year. She loves to challenge herself and the grouped peers of High Ability may also help to push her potential? Btw, the AMK Hub branch is spanking new.. i'm keen to try that branch as it is easier to ferry the children from one train station to another especially since i'm always with a buggy and baby. 😉

We're requested to come for a placement test and also to bring down her SA2 result slip from last year. Fees are $120 per month for a weekly weekday session of 2 hours each.

                        Feedback appreciated. :please:
