      Day#2

Teacher :\"Why are you wearing PE attire today?\"
P3 :\"My mother asked me to wear PE today\"
Teacher :\"Is your mother the new school Principle?\"

What do you think about the teacher's remark?

Hmmm.. this is just my personal thought. Could it be the message get distorted somehow? When my kids started P1, they also brought back some funny feedbacks. We monitored closely, talked to them alot, asked them lots of question to find out more. Eventually we realised that kids at time don't know how to convey message properly. At times, they will misinterpret what the teachers have told them. Sometimes, we must also find out what the kids have told the teachers, because at times our kids could have conveyed the wrong messages to the teachers or convey it in a very rude way. In fact, we talked to teachers alot and we show that we are willing to cooperate with them. We even tell the teacher that if our kids misbehaved, please go ahead and discipline them. Trust the teachers because they are trained and work with them closely, in this way kids will have a good and better environment to grow. We told our kids that don't hide anything from us because we talk to the teachers a lot. My elder girl ever asked me whether we will scold her if she is naughty in school. I told her that naturally we will be upset and scold her but it is for her own good. It is better that we get angry and scold her rather than she gets into big trouble later. She understood it and now my kids share everything with us even if they got punished by the teachers. In fact, they are getting better each year both in their studies and character πŸ™‚ It is very natural that we will get worry when the kids enter P1, but relax, just monitor closely and trust the teachers, the kids will be in good hands.

        holidayQ:
Hi there, I have twins who will be in P1 next yr. We live within 1-2km fr KCPPS. We are in a dillema as we do not know if we should take the risk and try to ballot for KCPPS or just register at Teck Ghee which is within 1km to our home. Could any kind parent please share with us what you know about KCPPS?

        1) The number of vacancies and applicants at Phase 2C for those living 1-2km. Just want to gauge how low the balloting chances are based on last year's registration.

        2) Why is KCPPS such a popular school? We often hear people say that KCPPS is a good school but no one could give us details. Do the students in general do well in PSLE? The school's website doesn't have anything on academic results.

        3) Anyone knows the school's policy on twins? Will they be allocated different classes?

        Thanks in advance.
        hihi,
        just my two cents,

I think U can search these sites for the past P1 registration results and more.

as for twins, I believe you may have to check with MOE. Just email or call, they do reply quite promptly.

totally agree with this comment (No \"LIKE\" button).

also, if the parents are perplexed, we got emails that we can dropped to the teachers, and maybe, in an open, relax manner just inquire about the incident..Just open the communication channels. No harm.

Visit the following url in order to know your form teacher e-mail address:

              http://www.kcpps.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=1046572

PS. The above info is meant only for P1.

hi, I don't think this is updated.

Mdm Ong is now 1D teacher, not 1G.

              Ups sorry.... :imsorry:

cause I thought it's the latest one. Because I can only verify my DS form teacher. However, I believe their e-mail address is remained.

Let me share two scenarios (out of so many..hee) that happened on my kids. Elder girl, get scolded by teacher, after that she drew on a book that she hated the teacher. We saw it, questioned her. She explained and claimed that she was not in the wrong. We explained to her that it is not right for her to do that no matter what and there is always a reason why she get scolded by the teacher (in fact, we know our kids character very well so we can easily tell whether she is at fault. Also, the girls always share with us many things, so we already know that the teacher has always been nice to her :P). Anyway, she told us that it was written long ago and the teacher has been very nice to her because she has corrected her mistake..haha. Next, our younger daughter was angry and said that she bought orange juice and poured into her water bottle to drink. Her teacher threw it away, pour drinking water in and asked her to drink water instead. (In fact, the day before, we have dropped an email to inform that our daughter is sicked and also to excuse her from PE. Teacher thanks us for informing her). We explained to our daughter that her form teacher is very good to her because she knew that she has just recovered from cough and fever, that is why she wanted her to drink water instead of cold drinks. You see, when you try to put yourself in teacher's position, you will learn to appreciate what the teachers have done to your kids. Open communication is very important and always try to find out the details. I think we only wrote to their teacher once or twice in a year to inform or find out something. Younger daughter's teacher ever waited for us to pick her in order to inform us what our kid has done wrong so that we can talk to her at home πŸ™‚
