Hi Bluebella,
I met one of my girl classmate's mom and she told me her son had the same issue on day 1 when all the food was sold out and the stall that had food was having long Q, so her son went without lunch. He is in P4,same as my girl.
I think the canteen vendors didn't expect the huge demand and thus resulted to the shortage. So it will be good for parents to feedback to the school and they can informed the vendors.
Let me know if you need help to bring lunch to your son, i have been delivering lunches to my children for the last 2 days. (P2 & P4).
I was hoping the school can arranged for catered lunches....
cheers,

Hi Rejoice
Is your kid in P2? My son just bought the picture comp from the school bookshop today. We were so blur; we missed out this book when buying the texts from Popular.
Btw, does any of you have concerns about lunch in school? My son tells me for 2 days in a row he din have lunch in school cos the Q is long and when it's his turn, the stall auntie says it's all sold out! -
Hi Rejoice,
Yes, i am looking forward to my lunch date with my 2 kids...
CCA list looks the same as previous, only changes is some CCA are now 3x a week. My DS has wanted to take Badminton but training is on Tues,Wed & Thurs, so i told him we will need to reconsider. Simply because 3x a week is too taxing for the child and on top of school h/w, my DS has tuition h/w and enrichment lesson, so i don't think he can do without his power naps.
Sigh, so now we are looking at options with 1x a week or simply do without CCA this year. I am not sure of P2 options of CCA...sorry!
cheers,

Hi Astee,
Thanks. Just read the letter from school today. Tomorrow DS will be dismissed at 12:15pm. Don't need to rush to prepared his packed lunch early in the morning. Yipee :-).
Also read about the new CCA. Looks like thisyear they have a few new CCA. Quite disappointed to see Art and Scout is on the same day and same time. DS will be interested for both. Now don't really know which one to pick. Do you know beside robotic, is there other CCA that are not available for P2? -

Hi rejoice137,Hi Ivy,
Yes I also think that this new bus vendor does not give good justification to fare increase. Furthermore the previous vendor already increased fare once. How come your neighbor has to pay $30 increase when it is same block as you? Is it because the DD is first time taking bus? I hope that something can be done to this. Let me know after you talk to the principal. Though my DS is not taking bus now, if needed, I can share my view too with the school.
Wow the vendor missed out your DS? So terrible and scary. Did your DS go to bus bay but the driver refused to take him caused they thought his name was not listed? It was very kind of the principal to send your DS home. He must have gotten a scare. Poor thing. thank God that your DS reached home safely.
DS still quite blur even when he missed the school bus home....he seems not affected..sigh... I think he forgot that he is taking school bus home, I did not remind him in the morning, never thought this could happen...

Hi rejoice,
Iβve got the call from the principalβ¦she is looking into the problem now, and she mention all affected parents to call her or the VP. -

Got to know that it was not the principal who sent my son home, it was the bus operator....my son told me principal... :roll:Hi rejoice,

I think Scout, Chinese Drum and Environment Club are soem of the new one since I did not see them before. I was disappointed that TG only had Brownie before and am quite happy to see Scout this year.
Yes, I think the spot having 3x training per week is a bit too much for non-school team. Previously I thought they spilt by school team and non-school team. Was hoping that DS can take up at least 1 sport and 1 non-sport club. But now likely may drop the sport CCA since the only 1x per week CCA for sport is swiming which clashes with his other activities.
Now still can't decide on either Scout or Art. Tough choice. -
Ivy Ang Siow Kia:
Haha. Your DS still adjusting to the school :-). I am glad that the principal is going to look into the problem. Will try to call her today or tomorrow. Thanks for the input. Did she mention that she was already aware of this as other parents have feedback?

Sigh, with nearly half of the school kids having lunch together, I really wonder how the small canteen can handle such a big load. We should call up the Principal to feedback on this.
I like Astee's idea of catered lunch. May be give the students a choice of either catered lunch or buy food from the canteen vendors. That way, the crowd will be lessen and the canteen vendors still have business. Since I work daily, I have to get up very early each day to prepare lunch for my DS. Kind of hard to pack lunch in the early morning that stay fresh till the noon time
. I use thermal food jar and can only pack 1-dish meal. I think I am gonna run out of idea on what to pack by next week :scratchhead:

fyi, school is looking into the lunch break crowd very closely, they had even time the last students who queue for the food, hope the timing can be improve further. There will be a survey going on the food that the children eating, there will be some changes in the menu selling in the canteen or other possibly sources to ensure the children have a healthy meal.
Cheers,
