      Hi Twa Tau,

How did you find out abt the \"streaming\" as in which classes are the better ability ones ?
My DD is in P4 this year and that was what the teacher told them last year. Also, based on ranking in her cohort. Not sure they have the same class ranking for every cohort though.

Hi I am a mum who is intending to register my boy to study at RVPS this year P1 registration, also considering Radin Mas

hope to see more parents at RVPS to share abt its envt, teachers & stress level etc etc ...
Just a point of reference, not sure whether that will be a good indicator of goodness of a school. During my my DS and DD P3 years, each has 10 students qualifying for the GEP.
The teachers are generally very nice and responsible, of course there are teachers that all students will hate to have. Environment wise, it is nice, the school premises is only 7-8 years old. Noticed recently the school is setting more difficult exam papers as compare to other schools, maybe to stretch the students and for differentiation. As for stress, I am not too stress, so are my kids.

Class size for P1&2 is about 30 students and they then to sit in groups of 5. They whole class, together with their form teacher, will stay together for the first 2 years.

For P3, RV is having 40+ students per class as well.

Homework wise is quite manageable, at least for me. For my DD teachers, they seems to be the same most of the time, accept one or two going on maternity leave but are cover by relieve teachers. class size is 44 from P3 onward, but it should be ok lah.

                Hi all.

thanks for sharing all these info as it will be very useful for parents whose kids have just started in P1.
just curious - does anyone know how did RVPS fare for last yearโ€™s PSLE results? the school website only indicated the % of A/A* and subject passes, but did not mentioned the top 10 students etcโ€ฆ

Not all the schools will provide such information. But if you make a comparison of the quality passes from RVPS, they are one of the better schools. You can see it from the following thread:
                  http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=29025&start=20
Was at RI and saw at least 3 boys from RVPS. RI T-score is 262 this year.

hi DS was in RVPS for 3 yrs but moved to another sch this yr becos of GEP. just to let you know that the top scorer for PSLE 2011 was a girl with 269 I think. during the 3 yrs DS spent there, he was v happy, teachers were v patient with him as he asked many questions. I also like the fact the teacher there are v upfront with feedback, they will share both good and bad with parents. Schoolwork load i noted is not as heavy compared to my elder child a girl from another all girls' school. what i like abt RVPS is that (well at least for the 1st 3 yrs where DS was there), there were many programs like visiting old folks, watching plays and school camps - it gives a rounded education and the emphasis is not always on academics. if it offers GEP, i would gladly let my son stay on. Hope this info helps ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrat to your DS making it to the GEP. My DD is probably in the same class as your DS last year. My older DS is also from RVPS and went to GEP. Now he is in RI Year 1.

Hi TwaTau, I would suspect your DD and my DS were classmates...has your DD left RVPS as well ? My older child DD was not from GEP and not from RVPS, she like your older DS is in Yr 1 RGS ๐Ÿ™‚

DS misses RVPS and his old friends....
