Sysac:
Heee...heee..heeee...for art you need palette and brushes and most importantly apron.....believe me the apron is the most important thing :yikes:Hi all,
My son is in 1H. Received 2 letters from Form & MT teacher plus the time table.
Form teacher's letter says must put in school diary. I went to the bookshop yesterday & was told it's currently nt available so I placed a temp diary in the homework file with a note to all teachers that the diary is nt available & to use the temp diary in the meantime.
MT teacher's letter says to include the red file for the worksheets. It is also not available. It also says that the children are strongly encouraged to purchase the Chinese Weekly Magazine. Any of you know where to get this magazine?
One of the item to bring tomorrow is the social studies book. Do we need to pack the file as well? Then there's Art lesson tomorrow. I am letting him carry the Art bag with all the things in there. However, there's tubes of paint in there but no palette & brushes. Do I need to pack those in the bag r the school's going to provide? Anyone can advise?
Thanks -
hi Sysac, seems like your kid form teacher is quite on the ball.. with additional letters. We only get the timetable and a introduction letter from the teacher.
Bring art stuff? eh, i think for this week, just bring the books to school to keep first, only next week then follow time table?
Ya, i felt cut off from the kids and school as well with totally no involvement at all.. Well, good and bad.. and since they made it this way im also fine with it..
btw my kid is in class 1A...

I only hv timetable, no other letters. Called office and they said only way to contact teacher is to call the office and hope they are around.
Can I know what are the info on the introductory letter? Tks.
As for Art, the office said just bring crayons.
I didn’t want to bring art bag as his bag is already v heavy. Things that we were asked to bring on Wed, like books and folders were all brought back. So dun know why they hv to bring.
Pls share info with me as my child’s form teacher seems a bit slow in communication.
By the way, u know how they are assessed? When are tests and exams etc? -
Hi Paulyn
May I check which class is your kid in?
The books we bring to school are all left in school.. Why bring back? So heavy for kids to carry here and there..
I don't know how they assess the kids or test stuff.. Didn't ask.. Let me know if you all hv info
-
The teacher said she did call for the books but because some students probably never queue up to pass to her. Ok, I thought it should be checked.
Not sure if expecting too much from the school but I guess will take it as an opportunity to teach my kid to be more responsible for his own things.
We just received a letter from the Chinese teacher today.
As for assessment, teacher said English no test in term 1. Spelling usually on Fri and she will pass the spelling list to us when its ready.
Are any of you attending the Sat seminars on 14 and 21 Jan? We can then get to know each other.
Also, any of your kids taking school bus back to St 52? -
Hi, have you signed up for the seminar yet? I didn’t lol
Thanks for the useful information… Good that we can update each other haha. Which class is your kid in? -
Hi mummies,
Yep, his bag was exceptionally heavy today & I let him carry the art bag as I didn't want him to miss out anything in case the teacher wanted & he didn't bring. I drove him to sch & came down to help him with the bags at the drop off point. There was a lady there (no one from PSG) who asked me if he was P1 and then asked 2 gals to help him when I said yes. That was nice

Hi mummies,
I emailed the form teacher about the sch diary nt being available at the bookshop. She told me she wld let me know when it's available. I will let you know when I hear from her. Let's keep each other posted. As for the subject files, I understand that we can get the red one from Popular. The other colours will come in at Popular next week. I will try my luck this weekend.
Are you buying the chinese weekly magazines? The Chinese teacher gave out a free copy and an order envelope today. I ordered.
My son takes the bus back to CCK crescent. St 52 is near the original school site?
Anyway, the form teacher & MT teacher have provided their HP numbers so need nt call the ofc once you hve those numbers

Thursdays and Fridays …
ok, this morning instructed my DS (P1) that he should consume the bun after school ends (1.45 pm !!!)
seeing how their recess is from 0945-1015, i figured he should be famish by the time school ends
he arrived home (get off the SCHOOL bus at 2.15pm … yep, dun like this also … first on - last off bus routine = on at 0645, off at 1.45 / 2.15 pm) … and told me …
no chance to consume the bun as :
1) not allowed to eat in the hall (transition period before boarding the bus)
2) no eating allowed on the bus
i feel somewhat angry with what’s in place (esp for Thu n Fri) …
(yeah the possibility of perhaps him not wanting to make an attempt did cross my mind)
anyway, thought best i post here to see if anyone can verify points 1 & 2
TIA
PS : lol highlight of my DS school is recess time !!!
he’ll always plan what he’s going to buy from the canteen (food) the nite before hahaha
new found wealth and freedom i guess lol -
hi mika_ling
