For 2011 batch there is one all-boys class. I wonder if the 2012 batch has the same or maybe this time there are more girls.

Wow, that’s cool. Haha, there are not enough girls. Majority of SST are boys. Even in my Japanese class, there are lots of HCI boys and SSTians.

For parents who currently have kids in SST, what are their school hours unsually like? Do they have extended school hours, suppl classes etc. ?

I think same like other sec schools, except they start a bit later. Fm Tue to Fri, they report by 7.40am and classes start at 8am. Monday classes start at 9am but they finish classes later at abt 3pm instead of 2pm.

Only those students who have been identified for Supervised Study Classes have to stay back after school to complete their homework or assignments.

Other than that they stay back for CCA or activities.

Do we have to do any special preparations for SST’s DSA besides the usual school results?

Eg. Teacher’s recommendation letter, awards…???

I got this fm the SST-DSA FAQ (taken during open house).
For the online application, info required:-
- Student & family particulars
- Academic records for P4, P5 and P6 SA1
- CCA records, achievements, awards, competitions
(In the post-PSLE application, they also listed 'Testimonials fm pri school teachers'. Don't know if it is included for DSA).

Required to submit photocopies of supporting documents only on the day of Selection Test when shortlisted.

Thanks Blurberry. Would those MOE Edusave awards count too?[/quote]If there's space, why not? In the post-PSLE appln, we were asked for awards, competition certs for the past 2 years only (probably there are kids who have certs and awards that could fill an arch file). Not sure for DSA though.
