Someone I know has been stopped by the traffic police in Dec, but before the news was even out - but guess cos his child was seated in front and not even belted... But traffic police said if he could show he has booster seat with him, he would give him a chance, but he didn't have it with him.

I think that's what he said. That time new rule hasn't come out yet, so I didn't ask for the details.

D-uh. It is precisely because no booster that is why the kid not sitting on the booster, still ask him to show he has a booster seat.

If have booster and still don't use, then deserve a hard knock on the head.

Or if giving a ride to adult less than 135mm tall then he/she has to sit at the back also, and cannot sit at the front (thought that is considered rude).

I do find many inconveniences in this new rule, cos we need to pick up our parents when we go out together, and the kids will sit on our laps. Not sure how we can do this now. Not every one can afford a big car.

And can see how each policy isn't aligned with each other - encourage more kids, but how are the kids going to fit in to the car if need to accommodate space for car seats and booster seats? Hand carried can? With all public transport fares increasing and having more kids, it makes more sense to get a car to move around, but car prices so high, and now stricter rules on seats (if not considered overloading).. wah, really eh, THE BIG SINGAPORE SQUEEZE. Suffocating leh, what do do har?

I do believe and understand that the rules are set for our own good, but I also hope there is leeway here and there 'unofficially' given. :xedfingers:

I see this policy as one that they will encourage strongly but will not enforce zealously. Just like the seat belt rule for all passengers. It makes sense that whenever possible kids should be in their boosters or child seats. Yes there will always be that few times where we will squeeze a couple more pple into the car and I believe the TPs do understand that as well.
