Btw, there's a virus spreading around the secondary 3 and secondary 4 levels, so those in the lower secondary, do take extra care of your body in this period of time!
Yeah my dd MC on Fri. :gloomy: Were many girls absent on that day?

I received this from Cedar Girls' principal with regards to this year's 'O' level results. 3 cheers for the school and girls for their good performance! :rahrah: :boogie:

The GCE O level results have just been released today.

I trust that you will join me in congratulating the 2011 Secondary 4 cohort for doing Cedar Girls proud. About one-fifth of our students achieved perfect scores of 6 points and another one-fifth received 7 points in *L1R5.

In all, 77.2 % had 10 points for L1R5. With bonus points in CCA and Higher MT, they are eligible for the Top 5 Junior Colleges in Singapore.

          :congrats:

Yes, Friday was temperature taking day, and I think in 3P, there were 6 students absent, and many others were absent in the other classes. My partner is running a high fever too. I caught it from her .. 😞

                Cheers! :celebrate:

I feel the mean L1R5 of schools is sorely neglected in media reports. It portrays a more accurate picture of the results of a school's cohort. But anyway, its ok. Enjoy your half day!

                Individualist : get well soon.

Haha I’m class of 2010. So yeah graduated already, and half day doesn’t apply to me. But I had my fair share of half days back then too.

oh! but it's good to see you still actively involved with Cedar here. 😄

The comments made earlier about the English Language programmes in Cedar Girls’ Secondary School being ‘not so good’ are unfounded. The latest O level results in 2011 for English are above the 75% distinction rate. The programmes in Cedar include the Confident Cedarian Programme and the whole school programme based on Reading and Presentation. The school has done very well overall for its subjects.

Oops I’m class of 2011 lol.

It’s not entirely unfounded. Class of 2011 did exceptionally well in English due to these programs that were implemented only last year, so the results have shown, and probably also of teachers encouraging us to work extremely hard because English has always been the elusive A1 for Cedarians. Of course, there’s been an addition of some very very good English teachers, so that probably helped too.
