Hi Esmummy and all other parents,
My gal, Ashley is also in P1 Lily. She came home with the Chinese Spelling list and Mandarin Speech and Drama enrollment form today. I am wondering if the Speech and Drama is good. Can any parent who has enrolled their dd share? Thanks! -

For whole of last year, there was a teacher who walked the girls to HDB gate for P1s. It was a little slow because the teacher had to wait for all the girls from diff classes, esp Wed. Can't be late picking her because I see many men sitting in the void deck just outside. So do remind your girls to wait in the school compound if they don't see you outside.Hi esmummy
My gal mention that there was a teacher following them today to the HDB gate. But her feedback is that they will be on their own this week onwards. My gal also go to the hdb gate after school, you can ask your gal to walk with her classmates. So that they have company. -
Hello - are there any parents here who hv P3 or older gals?
Just wanted to get your opinion abt the enrichment classes the school has for P3s.
My gal came back with enrichment forms y’day and OH MAN! it’s for ALL subjects.
That’s 2 days staying back … so wonder if there’s any good in these enrichment classes.
Many thanks in advance for parents who are able to share your thoughts.

Enrichment classes are entirely optional. I honestly didn’t find all of them useful, so I opted out, or picked those which I thought would be beneficial.
One thing to consider is your daughter’s energy level. If she’s the sort who has a duracell battery and can go on and on, then the enrichment provides stimulating activities. If she tires easily, then she’s probably better off resting at home.
Maybe you can let her try going for enrichment for a term or two and see how it goes from there. -
Hi anch,
thanks for your reply. I hope she’ll be ok. Also, just wondering about the mandarin speech and drama option on Mondays 2-4pm. Does that mean they buy lunch in the canteen? Will they be able to come out of sch to eat our home nearby or maybe at coffee shop before going back for the drama? I still have doubts that my dd will eat properly on her own… -
Hi Junie,
nice to meet you. Hope we'll keep in touch since our girls in the same class :D. -
Cowgraz, perhaps you can write in & ask the teacher what would they be doing during the supp classes? From there you’ll have a better idea to make a more thought through decision.

Is yr gal in P3 Lily? I am looking at my gal’s schedule…with her dance club activities and chinese remedial class (optional - but I strongly want her to go), I really pity her. She has to stay back till 530pm/545pm twice a week! But knowing her learning styles, I know I cannot coach her, and she has no tuition, I hope these enrichment classes will get her to do more. I believe she has lots of room to improve but I simply have no time to teach her.
I tell her, that we will try out for a term and see how she fare…I am also working out on the transport arrangement. Quite difficult to pick her up at 6pm…mad traffic rush and that means I hv to cook dinner much earlier.

My daughter came back with enrichment forms last year...she is in P2 this year and I just threw away 2 forms for Chinese speech & drama and something else. She wanted to go for ballet last year...explained to her that I want her to come home to rest...all these extras are not necessary at all. She had remedial and stayed back 2 days...this year remedial for Chinese.Just wanted to get your opinion abt the enrichment classes the school has for P3s.

It's abit tight isn't it? They dismiss at 1.30 on Mondays. How is she able to rush home, eat and return by 2 pm? I'd say buy lunch at the canteen with the rest of the girls. And pack her something for standby if she's still uncomfortable with the whole canteen routine. Or opt out of Mandarin speech and drama until the next term when she's more settled?Hi anch,
