Dear MFQuek... I can totally understand what you meant by the sweaty palms \"syndrome\"! Me too... heart also palpitating faster..
Regarding test dates, my DS (1O4) test date is on 22 Feb for ELL and LSS. You can click onto HCI's portal to check for test dates. Teachers may just update the test dates whenever they're ready.. so you may like to click check on a regular basis.
This link http://apps.hci.edu.sg/booking/day.php?day=13&month=01&year=2012 will link you straight to the test dates for all the classes. Just click day by day and lookout for your DS' class. I was clicking through and the first test I saw under class 1O1 is on 7 Feb - Math test. Keep clicking on the daily dates to see if you can \"spot\" other tests.. (definitely not something i look fwd to seeing..)
ELL - For 1O4, they are also starting on Mao. No mention about which one's the next book to be read. ELL teacher told them to bring a notebook, but did not say what the notebook's for.
CF - same. DS was told to finish reading the first 2 chapters of \"Xi You Ji\" by weekend.
IH - DS was given as homework by IH teacher yesterday to draw a pix to represent what he think IH is... handed up today. Yup, you're right. IH teacher wants DS to bring a notebook specially for IH.
Lantern - phew.. as at now, no mention of lantern making.. etc.
Class committee - set up i think on Tues - ahem, Chairman, monitor, secretary, treasurer, etc.
Duty roster - set up duty roster today... who cleans what and how frequent.
CCA trials/orientation - tmrw the boys will have to stay back till about 6pm again...
That's about what happened this week.

Did anyone go to the link that ycpang gave us on Projects?? Think briefing is today during IS lesson? ( independent Studies). Omg!!! -
ER > ring file, teacher did not specifically mention brands etc, so it is ok to get the conventional ones from, say, Popular… But get some dividers. Frm my experience, get the plastic type dividers. Paper type the 2 ring holes easy to break. Remember to ask DS check with teacher combi.

View by month is best as the test dates are displayed on a monthly calendar, no need to check individual days. Just curious, how did you discover this link? I don't seem to find it through the HCI website. Indeed resourceful. :rahrah:
