Thanks for the info, botakgundul! Did u get this info from mdm lim and Mdm Ong? My boy has been out of school for 3 days, wonder how much info I've missed out on? :roll: really hope he can be well enough to go back to school tomorrow!
The child has to dress up for both, Mother Tongue & English.
For 1C - English, the children can dress up & can say 5 or 6 sentences about the character that your kid has chosen.
For 1C - Chinese, the children can dress up & may bring the chosen book so your kid can show it with their friends.

strange, as the daddy, I did not receive any sms about the early release last fri.
it seems a lot is happening in 1C, but nothing relays in 1D. Did not get any notes/etc about photo taking or character alive thingy. Will check my sonβs bag today.
btw, would like to check with parents on the costings of food in the canteen.
My son would get a drink & a bun during recess and it would come up to 1.70 which to me, is a bit pricey. Now, we are educating him to be selective and drink from his water bottle.
Reasonable pricing or I am just too skeptical? -

Did you ask him how much each item cost? I think it depends on what he gets.
My dd likes apple juice and it costs $1.00 (which to me is very ex!, even ntuc sells it cheaper). Having said that, i'm well aware of inflation costs, and everything we buy outside has also increased in price.
Anyway, after the 1st week, both hb and I have decided that we will pack her snack box and additional drink for recess. She has to finish her snack box and drink first before buying anything from the canteen. Its also our way to monitor what she eats (coz she may buy unhealthy snacks when she's in charge
)

bun is 70cents and drink is $1. I think both are quite priced a bit high.
Given this is primary school, $1 a drink is something I can get from some vending machines. Are the food/drinks subsidized?
(of course, I understand if I don't buy, I won't complain).
Yep, considering going the economic and healthy track of snack box. -

Heard that other schools' canteen food is actually cheaper than kcpps. A bowl of noodles or rice is abt 60 cents as compared to kcpps' 90 cents to a dollar. So kcpps canteen food is indeed more expensive!strange, as the daddy, I did not receive any sms about the early release last fri.

I record all the canteen menu include its pricing. However, do take note the price may differ for Snack Heaven. I bought biscuit for my youngest one, it costs 50cents, however their price states 20-30cents. For the rest of the stalls, it's quite accurate.
