How do you make friends with the other students in the online class?
From what I know, they can have discussions with each other and the teacher. But they don't really talk to each other personally. Only one time, the other student message my ds on skype to ask something. Ds replied using message. But I told him to restrict himself doing that because it might distract him from the lesson being conducted. Some lessons, I notice it's just my ds and the teacher - no other student.

My ds' classes currently are on Mon/Wed/Fri, 8pm. Chose this time slot to accomodate cca timing. Will see how when school time-table + CCA is in full speed, and change if necc. Mine is taking Express Chinese and not HMT. Yes, very committed teachers in China and very responsive admin team here in Spore. My ds from borderline to A at psle. I am very impressed.

My ds used to be in Express Chinese too. Then some miscommunication in ds' school admin, end up saying that ds' class is pure HMT class. If he wants to do express Chinese, then have to switch class - my ds refuses to change, said that he's used to his current friends and don't want to go thru the hassle of making new friends all over again. Sigh.....ds has never taken HMT in Primary school. Hopefully he can cope lor. But Traiwow is very efficient I must say - straightaway on that day I called regarding the switch, that evening's tuition was based on HMT materials - tutor has it all ready. I'm quite impressed. Good job for your ds! From borderline to A is quite an achievement!!!

Indeed! I guess the teaching style suits him and hence equates to more effective learning. He was able to read most words in the passages compared to previously. Besides better word recognition, he was also able to rattle off chinese idioms, and uses them appropriately. Though not many compo were done, he was able to write better. So all in all, I thought the teacher must have done excellent work with him. Kudos to the Trainwow teachers! :rahrah:

Never heard of trainwow before this. Are they very popular? Has anyone tried them for Upper Secondary HCL before?

Might just do that although my dd is very busy now. No time for tuition. Thought I'd do my research first. πŸ™‚

Well Confusious/Stralford are using Wen Jiun, the top PSLE student from NHPS last year (277) as their latest advertisement. Apparently he has been with them since P1. Just don't know at which branch.
Is he with RI? Did he get DSA there or using PSLE T-score? Understand the top stud came from T3 last year. What is the diff between 6T3 and 6T4, mean how did the sch 'stream' them ?

After settling dd for her sec 1 life. Now ds P4 this year to look after. Qualified only round 1 GEP. Dissapointed. Boy and girl are really different. Boys get influence easily, mature later, play so much, aiyah headache.

No wonder NJC has different cut-off point for boys and girls. They won’t tell you as this is internal decision. Boys cut-off point is lower than girls.

Really? There's a different cut off point for boys and girls at NJC? Is this for the S1 Central Posting? Cannot be, right? After all the allocation is done by MOE.
