We will be away over the CNY holidays. Do I still have to fill up the travel declaration form if dd will not be missing school?
Qn about the Chinese spelling. DD says that for No. 6, the teacher told them to leave out the 2 dots above the "u" for purpose of the tingxie. I told her that must write in the dots when the "u" is alone but leave them out when another letter is placed beside it, e.g. yu (fish). Sorry. Hope I make sense.
I am rather upset with 1D. The communication is really lacking. Just found out from dd today that her form teacher has changed. I am not questioning the reasons behind the change but would prefer the school sends out a very brief info that this was happening. Until now, no news about Character Alive or any other info about whether to wear PE attire on days other than PE days and PALSD days. Why do I have to interrogate my dd every nite on what she remembers of the messages her teachers pass. Maybe I have been spoilt by my dd’s childcare with the regular email updates etc and I am being niao. -

Just happen that I have a super mom in our office. So I just share the info to you guys. She has asked for better rate if she could order in bulk, they told her that it's a fixed price. -

I don't know for Kuo Chuan actually.
However, I know St. Andrew doesn't have it because the principal tells the parents. He told the parents not to stress up their kids with tuition because no exam for p1 & p2. They just had their 1st meet up session between Teacher & Parents (PTC) last week. Isn't it fantastic? But there's a catch, they still have a test, they call it \"Topical Test\". The test will be done after each subject completes. I'm not sure how it works in details.
Back to Kuo Chuan, our principal never says anything regarding this. I just prepare my DS irregardless if there's an exam or not. In my opinion, P1 & P2 are very crucial stage. If the foundation is not strong enough, my DS will be having more problem in the future. -

I believe you may refer to ours, 1C. More or less, it should be the same.
I have received the latest time table from our form teacher. Apparently, PAL S/D and PAL A/M require PE attire. For 1C, the children will wear PE attire on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. The uniform will be used only on Wednesday. Exception for tomorrow (Tuesday), they have to use uniform because of photo taking session. -
Botakgundul thanks for replying. How I wish my dd could have a FT like yr’s - so much more communicative. I wonder to myself, if she can, why can the rest of teachers too. I would be less uptight about such things if my dd was not the very scared to get scolded type. Don’t want an incident like what was posted about the P3 kid coming in PE attire on the wrong day happening to my dd. It would make her hate school n then I will have a big problem on my hands.

My dd’s tr informed kids 1thing but she also updates her blog regularly. At least for these 2weeks.mayb it’d continue till dd gets her diary…?not sure…
Tr also didn’t inform on character’s alive or any event distant…she only mentioned abt pe uniforms n when to wear them.
Apparently,the class changed timetable too,but v minimal. She attached on blog softcopy coz she wun b printing again.i got hubby to print out instead.hehe… -
Oh Yeah,i heard frm u guys abt +venture magazine…then went to ask her if she finds it good…she actually replied that abt 5classmates r subscribing n paying $ soon! Erm…hw come i din know abt it?she din mention it or send back any form or sample magazines like u all mentioned.
Out of 30 in e class,y only 5subscribe? Is it good?a little pricey?like young scientist? -

I have a whole stack of top sch exam papers at home too...but hard copy... From past years back to even 2007...can still b used right?the questions shud b more or less e same.
If u guys want,i can go photocopy n pass u all at bishan.just pay photocopy $... -

We received the scholastic brochure some time ago. Yesterday got another b/w brochure for books. I just threw it away without looking cos got too many books already. I will only buy what is compulsory.
Btw - 1D parents. False alarm. Mrs Chan is still the FT but was on MC yday. I called the school and they said children sometimes pass the wrong msge. So if they know that, then why still place such great reliance on their memory

I go n compile the schools n subjects n years tat i have then let u know again...the whole stack i have at hm was more than enuf to scare hubby away. His immediate reaction to my 2paper bags of exam papers was-wah,u wan ur daughter to run away from home? Lucky im not ur child...
Dd came back with scholastic too.nothing much she doesn't have or like,so wun b ordering much too...mayb just a couple.
