Both my children are attending Kumon in eastpoint.

It is good to start them when they are around 4 years old. The earlier the better.
Both my children start at the age of 5.
      They are still in Kumon.
Kumon is a good program as it trains your child to be discipline and independant in doing their work.
They are first accessed by the trainer on the level to start off with and no two kids are the same.
The kids are allowed to progress on their learning ability.

You can bring your child to any of the nearest Kumon centre for a free assessment before you decide.

        Hi,

Does anyone had any experiences with mathshub for pre-schoolers and would like to share their views?

          LittleLambie:
Need some advise here from parents who's kids are with Kumon.

I've just enrolled my child to Kumon this week. I realised that the homeworks that my child took back, are all the same sets, eg, 2 sets of 3A21A and 3 sets of 3A30A for example. Is this the norm? I know they do repeat worksheets but by having 3 sets of the same worksheets on the same week, arn't my child doing the exact same questions everyday? I feel its such a waste of time if that's the case. Or did they gave the same worksheets out by mistake?

          Please enlighten me. Many thanks!
I found out from my son the reason why they let the kid do the repeated worksheets are:

          1. They have several mistakes and they need to keep doing to make sure that the kids are able to do with minimal mistakes

          2. Each kid will have to do each set of worksheets at least twice.

Many thanks for your reply 🙂

Initially, I thought maybe my child made a lot of mistakes hence he was made to do the worksheets all over again. But so far, all the worksheets he had done (5 sets) are all 100 marks & are within 10mins. Hence, I really see no point why the centre made him
repeat those sets over & over again. Its not just repeating 1 or 2 times, its the same set repeating 4 times! 😞

Any other Kumon parents who will like to share their experiences with me?

I'll probably give the centre a call later to find out as well.
Which level is your child at?

I have two children in Kumon and I can stand by it that it helps.
the worksheets you get in Popular is not the full set you will get in Kumon.

Do drop by the nearest Kumon centre to do an assessment for your child.

You will be briefed in details.

from what i know, Kumon reinforces learning via some "repeated" worksheets… but it is also flexible enough to let the child tackle sums that are beyond his level (i.e. P2 doing P4 math)… so in a way, it is self pace learning…

It also ensures that your child gets in the habit of doing daily work independently…

My daughter now at K2 have difficulty to do simple addition for 2 digits but after enrolled her at Kumon Gek Poh since Aug, she have no problem solve it in short time frame.

She started from Level 3A in August 2009 and early Nov already proceed to Level A.

Now, I intend to enrol her for English and Chinese as well. Any comments about the Kumon English and Chinese?

                    Thanks
