Actually you can also try. Bc I know in NYGH, there are girls who apply under Chinese Orchestra DSA and have no competition awards. They sit for the tests and the audition, and also get confirmed offer. So there's always a chance. Same for Dunman High too. -
My girl has violin grade 5. Does she consider having 2 instruments - violin n Guzheng?

You can only apply under one instrument, unless she wants to apply for MEP. In any case, then one of them still should be the main instrument. -

There are a number of schools which accept dance (ballet) for DSA. Most of them specify a minimum RAD Grade 5 certificate. Of course if your dd has been getting distinction in her ballet exams that would stand her in better stead. But more important is how she performs during the auditions. They'll look at technique, poise and performance abilities. -

Just to share our experience here to those who may want their girls to try for DSA... my dd is Sec 2 now.
During her years, for audition, teacher will perform different types of dance like jazz, ballet and Chinese dance only once and all girls will have to tried their best to remember the steps and perform to the judges in group of 5 or 6. They also asked to do some stretching to test her body flexibility.
There were about 150 applicants for dance druing that year and about 11 of them called for the group interview few weeks after audition. For your reference, my dd scored G1, 2 and 4 in distinction 70 for G5.
Good luck to all
