It should be online. The form teacher would have notified the class how to submit the cca choice form.

I have a problem here. Are all Cedarian school bag very heavy? Any way to reduce the load cos my daughter refuse to put her books in the locker as she is worried that she may need it for reference when doing her homework. Now with the lap top it is even heavier. Next problem is my daughter alweys complain that there is a long q in the toilet after PE and by the time she goes to canteen for her meal, there is already long q and end up she always did not eat during the first break.Any solution? or any parents having same problem as me, care to share ?
Any tips from senior on how to prepare for common test next wk for History, Geography and Lit? Buy assessment book? any recommendation for Lit guide book ?

If your dd is very hardworking one, yes, probably her bag will be heavy. After some time, she will realise certainly days don't need to bring laptop. Dependent on which teachers she gets.
Also she can beat the toilet queue by learning to change in class. there is a discreet way of doing so which most of the seniors are very familiar with. Girls' sch is ok.
I try to give my dd a heavy breakfast. Sometimes she doesn't need to eat atbreak cos lunch is just another 2 periods away.
AsFor lit, the teacher's notes are quite comprehensive. She can ask around and see if others lit teachers give others notes inother classes . Hist and geog requires understanding and some memorising. My dd didn't hv any assezment books for the humanities. Being consistent in her work is the key to preparing well for tests andexams. Can't do last minute in sec sch.

Haha either change in class or go to the upper sec toilets or those that are rarely used by people, such as the ones near comp lab 1 and 2, or outside the HOD room, or well there are sooooo many toilets on campus. But itโ€™s really convenient to learn how to be able to change in class. Itโ€™s pretty quick too.

You may want to get your dd to do the homework requiring textbooks in school? Homework for math, chinese, english, or even literature can be done at home since it only requires the reference of notes from the teachers. Most pupils, like twilight mentioned, change in class, under the table, or in the corner of the classroom. Its a more effective way.

For history, just make sure your dd has good time management during the test because most of the time, it is hard to finish the essays. Reread the questions because no matter how well you write, if you don't answer what the question wants, the teacher won't give the marks. Constantly read the tested chapters like a story book to familiarize. To better remember the history notes, play it like a movie in the head, like what happened how Qin Shi Huang took over China, and how he exerted his power by burning the books and the rules he implemented like uniforming the chinese characters throughout the whole of china. The main point is not to cram everything into the head, but roughly remember what happened since it is not required in lower sec to remember details like the dates, and exact examples. Follow the PEEL paragraph format (point, example, elaboration and link) religiously.

For geography, since there's usually quite a lot to memorize, read the tested chapters/notes repeatedly, underline keywords, and write your own notes, summarizing chapters and remembering to include the important points. Start studying at least a week before so your dd will feel more confident and won't be so forgetful/careless.

For literature, it should be a poem/prose. Prose is easier to understand, but poem has more to write about. Usually, you cannot really 'study' for this but just go read up and remember the writer's techniques like imagery, metaphor. Scoring in literature depends a lot on how you express yourself. Write short, simple sentences to deliver and emphasize on points, because usually if sentences are too long, your dd might start writing out of point and not answer the questions. REMEMBER the read the question again and again and ONLY answer what they are asking for. Once again, follow PEEL(point, example, elaboration and link) religiously. Make sure your dd will use examples in the prose/poem that SUPPORTS and COMPLIMENTS the point she wrote because if the example used is wrong, she will be marked down majorly. Elaboration is explaining how the example supports the point, not writing a summary of what happened in the prose/poem.

Assessment books are really not necessary because your dd might be too busy to do them when cca officially starts, and the hw/practices/notes the teacher supplements to your dd should be enough to ensure she does well. In case of ANY doubts or questions, do approach the teacher IMMEDIATELY.

Hello To Zeemimi , Twilight and individualist

Thank you very much for making an effort to explain in detail to my questions. I really appreciated very much and the tips given are definitely very helpful . Guess I have to convince my DD that it is perfectly ok to change in the classroom discreetly. (I have suggested to her changing outside the toilet cubicle but she said I am crazy) As I am very new here and not very familiar as to how to reply to your post. Could anyone enlighten me on this.

                      Thanks
