Ok, let me go check it out.You can buy a shower hat for kids from Daiso. It shields their eyes from the water coming down.
Alternatively, get ready dry towels to wipe his face constantly while washing his hair. My gal is ok with washing hair if there's a dry towel within reach.
And you must always use Baby Shampoo (no tears). Normal shampoo is very stinging to the eyes.
But my boy a bit fussy. He doesn't like to wear hats or caps.....

2. instruct the kid to tilt his chin upwards when i wash his hair. hardly gets water into his eyes like that

DS1 hates water and shampoo running down his face. So by getting him to tilt his chin upwards or head backwards, water runs down behind. -

hmm not sure what suggestions to give too … never had such problem.
maybe u should bring him for a swim? -
I never had this problem with my kids either. Maybe because we bring them swimming even when they were infants and we let them play in the rain.
Making them tilt the hear back is one way that I did to prevent the soap from getting into their eyes.
Try playing with them in the shower. Instead of holding the shower head close to their heads, hold it up high so that the water falling on them feels like raindrops instead of a waterfall.
Another way is to shower together with your kid. Get them to wash your hair for you. Kids love to copy what adults do. -
Hi,both my kids had the same problem, but my girl had it worse as her hair’s longer. My boy outgrew it after we played ‘hold your breath’ each time I go over his face with the shower head. As for my girl, I had to get her to tilt back her head while I wash her hair (even now). She really outgrew it after she started swimming lessons at 5 yrs old. I’ve noticed that besides being less fearful of water on face, the way we hold the shower head makes a difference. When we hold it over their head, it is less predictable to them and so they are more fearful. However, if we put the shower head at a fixed position (on a holder) where they know where the water will be, they have ‘more control’ and is less fearful - although it will take longer for them to complete a shower…Hope this helps.
