LYL10:
Understand from school's staff that warning has been issued to the vendor in question. The school takes a serious view on this matter and will reiterate to all the canteen stall holders that the pupils' health and safety is the school's top priority.Regarding the conversation that I had with the VP (ms chau)...
summary the Sch noted how serious this matter can be and will inform the AM.
For further comment/suggestion on the canteen's food, I believe the PLG can take it up to the school.. -
Dear.mommies
In recent plg mtg, concerns on canteen food was brought to the mtg in 3 areas
1. Prices and serving portion
2. Process food
3. The choices available
A few of us have pv during canteen and had asked during the meeting to address. School mgmt advised they had met with the vendors during December on these issues and they will address this again.
apparently under moe regulation, process food is permitted on Friday and there are some.foods which are grey areas.
It’s great to have parents noticing the environment our children are growing up with. This will make the school a place where it is filled with love and care for all children not just our own.
Let’s continue to monitor as the plg committee is also keep track of the issues tabled. It would be great that we as concern parents gather and share info together. -
Taobaby,
Spoke with Huang laoshi of 1.6 Chinese this morning to clarify. This is what was gathered from conversation:
1. The standard of class 1.6 is above the basic requirements and if time permits, she will quiz them on.words that are seen and.read.in text book. It is also a gauge for her to see the students progress level. The list.provided is for the mass cohort but they will try to match the children’s learning progress according to their capabilities hence the additional words.
2. Ds tingxie book is not in school bag and he said he didn’t had his tingxie today as he was late from injection . -
Hi Taurbear, thanks for the above information!=)

The other 2 words are ju2 and shu1.
Oh dear, tat means my silly boy did not hand in his bk aft Ting Xie…
Taurbear, did teacher Huang mention anything on those dates??
Was thinking,it ll be great if all teachers could send text to all parents important messages like wat we received everyday <ADV>, perhaps for the 1st term, the kids should be more steady by then. Moreover, they were still in K2 wks ago!
As for canteen, really must pressurized sch to take action! It’s a real big issue! From expiry drinks to uncooked food, wat’s next!! I dun think those canteen aunties will give these to their children!! -
Dear parents of primary 1: acc to my Ds Chinese is from 1.5 to 1.7. So does that means that 1.5 is the best class of the three? Anyone know the difference between the class?

Dear parents: just for sharing and mayb the plg can bring up as an improvement. My galfriend told me that DD in pri1 in peiqun Sch in toa payoh. Everyday the teacher will send email to parents on what is being taught during the day be it Chinese maths etc and the summary also include homework for the day and highlights of the next day.

Wow!!!Peiqun sch's teachers are dedicated.I heard from my friends that teachers in Anderson don't even reply email or check email, how to email the parents? -

Like that wouldn’t the teacher have no life? I really don’t expect the teachers to go to this extent. An unhappy teacher will not be able to teach effectively. I’m actually happy that my ds doesn’t have any homework except maths once a week. Lol. There will be a PTM in march so u will be able to find out your child’s progress then. Does it really matter if we know or not know what is being taught? I think a term summary of what was covered is sufficient. No need daily update. -

So far my son’s teachers have been very prompt in replying SMS and email to me. I think they are really dedicated. I once ‘talked’ to his form teacher till midnight! Even late at 10pm+, after her children slept, she had to mark the sch work. We must bear in mind that they have their own family too and so we must be reasonable in our expectations.
