citizenship definitely yes, those international students/scholars can only get into RI/HCI with 2 points and A2 and above for their English Grade. For your information, most of the international scholars may have to go AJC/SAJC even with 2 points if they only get a C for their English.CCA won't be taken into consideration during JAE as posting is done by MOE.
Does the system at MOE really look at English grades? I thought it was stated at the MOE site that in the event of two students with the same net scores, they consider citizenship followed by balloting?
For locals, the system may still look at CCA record. Yes, the posting is done by JAE, but all JCs are allowed to input their preference/criteria to select students whose nett L1R5 is exactly equal to COP before JAE starts. The rest of the work will be dealt with by the system itself. -

Interesting. So you're saying some schools get to cherry pick their students even before JAE? btw, how do you know this?

Hi Bryan! I would appreciate it if you can post your result of the school posting and your choices here lol, because Iβve the exact combination as yours except that I donβt have pure geog as a subject. Iβm taking O levels this year btw. Thanks a lot!

Come to NJC if you failed ^_^I have 4 points for my o level (6-2) as I did not take HMT.
Would I have any chance to enter RI through the JAE. Or would I have to appeal?
My results are:
English - A1
Math - A1
A Math - A1
Biology - A1
Physics - A1
Chemistry - A1
Combined Humanities - A1
Geography - A1
Chinese - A2
Does anyone have any experience appealing? What does it include?
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. Would you choose VJC or NJC?
Kidding, but in fact even with 4 nett points, it is just the average standard in NJC. Our students are mainly 3 and 4 pointers, plus a small number of 5 pointers. VJC is equally good, so I will suggest you to consider the location of these two JCs (how far they are from your house), saving 1 hour of travelling per day can make a great difference in your JC life. -
Just a word of advice, if you intend to go to the 1st tier JCs, make sure that you have a strong foundation at O levels and you are an independent learner as it will be extremely tough to survive if you have a shaky foundation. An A1 grade typically ranges from 75 to 100 so if you happen to fall between 75 to the 80 plus, please rethink your decision to study at the 1st tier JCs. All the best!

I put RI as my first choice, NJC as second and AJC as third. The rest were randomly filled. I got into NJC
All the best for your O levels.

Thanks for sharing with us your posting result! Lol, that seems like admission to RI is awfully hard without HMT..are you fine with NJC or are you going to appeal? -
